Looking forward to seeing her run out in the royal blue and white for the first time, as part of a team of trailblazers who will be the forerunners for a great North Melbourne institution that will exist at Arden Street in perpetuity thereafter.

Caught up today with Mo Hope's interview in the Hun - the one where she said Collingwood was shiny but nothing under the surface and how much she loved being at NMFC. Didn't watch her on Survivor but it doesn't sound like she is much of a diplomat - piss her off and she'll say so.

Sounds like Malthouse was more rude than he might have been, but his basic point is frustratingly wrong-headed. Being a dad and grandad doesn't give you the right to tell grown women what they are allowed to choose as sports. I played supers and that was supposed to be less rough but women who choose footy want to tackle. No further rule modifications.

I am in Mo's corner on this one. Sure she could have handled it better, just like Mick didn't have to be a chauvinistic prick. He can hide behind, this is my opinion line all he wants, facts are he said in a room full of male and females, with one of his co panelists being an AFLW player, that he thought women should not play AFL as it now played and that changing of the current rules mmay as well end up with the players wearing dresses. E.g. the players will be weak like women.

This is unnecessary and disrespectful to his fellow panelist. He could have made his point about the rule changes without degrading women and could also have made his point about AFLW better too. He is either being blatantly rude or just clueless.

In regards to AFLW, its here and if you don't like it, don't watch it, it's not for you. This has increased playing participation across the board, has more women loving the game and even if it does not end up the financial success the men's game has, it helps cement AFL as the number one sport in Australia. If your Mum and Dad played AFL, your probable not going to play soccer.

The more I look into the story the more I’m proud of Mo’s actions. It has brought about discussion and focus. People who were actually at the function are stating that they were embarrassed for their kids and that Mo was absolutely justified in not wanting to sit next to that condescending prick.

Is signed as a Marquee player to a flagship side.

Then made the face of promoting the league.

We entered the competition and as soon as we did she jumped ship and came directly to us. Because she had been aligned to the club for some time.

Sure she probably could have handled this Malthouse stuff differently, as could have he. However I don't really see how she's an embarrassment.

I mean on the sliding scale of shit she could have done, walking out on Malthouse is a pretty small thing to be embarrassed by.

If he belittles someone’s profession, male or female, sportsperson or not, he should expect some blowback.

Good on Moana (not ‘this character “Moanna”’ as you so disrespectfully labelled her in an earlier post) for standing up for what she believes in. It’s great that we have such a strong and passionate individual at our club.
