Would it be fair to say that team synergy would be the only thing that would prevent this team from winning the premiership?
Perhaps, but from what I understand a lot of the girls should know each other fairly well from MUWFC. I think a lot of them have played together.

Women's footy can be hard to predict, but I would suspect most would think that we're favorites. FWIW Sportsbet have us as equal favourites at 5.50 with the Dogs.

Having a fair portion of the team in Tassie complicates things. Also despite the press I don’t think we cherrypicked the very best, we got some good players and ones with potential. In saying that I didn’t follow AFLW much until we got a team so go Roos!!

Hi all, FYI for anybody interested have slightly amended the OP to show a link for this years BigFooty AFLW tipping.

2019 AFLW TIPPING HERE: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/pickem/

Prize: a year's Platinum and medal for the winner.

Here watching training but I do need to do more prep - can’t really report much useful about individuals. Training looks pretty sharp, good skills and intent and a lot of talk, some banter, with encouragement and guidance from the older players to the younger ones as well as the coaches. Mo talks a lot, with direction and encouragement especially to young teammates - good to see. The bibs v no bibs game drill has been pretty even.

Nice family crowd, not big - probably about 30 people at a guess - but the shop is doing well and I’m one of very few here without kids.

I'm in Melbourne atm, got here Thursday.

Was a bit late - big memorial for dad yesterday so slow morning - missed training but managed to bring my two eldest girls along just as it finished and they had a great time meeting the players. The eldest brought along her singing my little pony toy and was singing songs to a few of them. They loved it. Great morning.

Perfect timing - a lot of little girls having fun there as the players chatted and posed for photos!

North Melbourne captain Emma Kearney has revealed she asked the Kangaroos to poach her before the start of her final season with the Western Bulldogs.

Kearney won the AFLW best-and-fairest, earned All-Australian honours and starred in the Dogs’ premiership last year before telling the club a week after the Grand Final that she was off to North.

The AFL industry has long struggled with the idea that players can stay committed to one jumper when they have secretly agreed to play elsewhere.

But Kearney’s mature approach helped her piece together a decorated season.

“I was really disappointed when North didn’t get an AFLW licence initially, because they’d done a mountain of work for my VFL club, Melbourne Uni, and were super genuine about women’s footy,” Kearney told the Herald Sun.

“I thought they deserved one and was really disappointed they didn’t get one.

“As soon as (North) got announced as having a licence I contacted (football boss) Laura Kane and said, ‘Once you’re allowed to start poaching players I’ll put my hand up to play there’.
