I was literally just going to post the exact same thing. Should get every other club "interested" to start talking about how we're going to form a breakaway league. All they have to do is not use the club trademarks. Nothing stopping them from starting clubs.

Watch how quickly the AFL eat a sh*t sandwich if it even looks like getting going.

Okay, so currently:
  • Adelaide.
  • Brisbane Lions.
  • Carlton.
  • Collingwood.
  • Fremantle.
  • Greater Western Sydney.
  • Melbourne.
  • Western Bulldogs.
Geelong, St Kilda, North Melbourne, Richmond and West Coast have provisional licenses. Five, making it 13 teams?! (Weird.)

Leaving Swans, Suns, *bombres, Hawks, Port with no provisional licenses?!

So, as much as I'd like us to have a 'breakaway' competition, the AFL would probably just give them to these other five teams, and we'd have to wait years for *essendon, Carlton, Collingwood etc. to let us in. Or, they'd include four of the five provisional licensees, with one to miss out.

* doesn't have a team so there'd be no one blocking us.

A lot of the Mugars were drafted hey?

16 Mugars and 15 Falcons iirc. The Falcons are the better team, having won something like 8 of the past 11 premierships and reaching the grand final the other 3 times. The Mugars were narrowly beaten by the Falcons in last year's gf. Both teams would be better than every AFLW team simply because they have well entrenched tactics and game style established whereas this is the most glaring weakness with the AFLW teams - they've only played a couple of games together and have had very few training sessions. They are basically rep teams cobbled together and learning each other's capabilities and deficiencies on game day.

100% could not care.......serious yawn factor......not enough talent to fill four teams let alone adding in more....

The sad thing is the Melbourne University Mugars and the Darebin Falcons with their full strength teams would smash every team in the AFLW and play off in the grand final.

The Mugars are brutal. They often train at Arden Street

One of my mates here in Tassie follows North with a passion! With 2 daughters, he was no chance to ever see a son play for the team he loves. Wednesday night he confirms that one of his daughters has been selected from here in Tassie, to wear the North Melbourne jumper..... congrats Lauren, wonderful achievement! Stevo will be one very proud father!!! :footy:

Congrats to all the other women as well :thumbsu:

Ps: Give Lauren (Stevo.... obvious nickname) a great Arden St welcome for me :)
