Hope was signed by Collingwood as one of its flagship players ahead of the inaugural AFLW season in 2016, but North Melbourne has strongly targeted the Magpie this off-season and is expected to announce her signing on Friday (today).

Having averaged seven disposals and one goal per game over her 13-game career, Hope, 30, is yet to reach the potential that was seen in her initial exhibition matches

What about the fact we should have been a foundation club to begin with? Have had a longer affiliation with women's football and could argue we've done more for women's football than any other club.

Crows have a strong team and don't seem to have lost anyone to date. I think our ties with MU and Tasmania will see us better placed to retain some players than some other clubs, for those that have strong ties to their grassroots. But I am sure there will be some young players we develop that aren't will get plucked from us by other clubs, it is going to be difficult until they allow contracts beyond 12 months.
