The Elisha King thing is a bit of stuff up.

Replaced her on the list but didn’t play the replacement at all and couldn’t play her even though she was fit.

Who made the decision to write off her whole year weeks before the season started?

I’ve posted this before but I really feel our team as it is set up would be perfect for 2019 (and even 2020) but just lacks the run and carry and a mobile tall or two to be a top side this year. Watching the game live today just reinforces that feeling.
Can’t fault the effort and the spirit though. Grace Campbell in particular is just a ripper to watch. Bannister seems to be the AFLW version of Zurhaar this season, kicked a goal with her only possession for the game.

Easy to blow the siren whenever you want when the countdown clock is turned off

In fairness, we could be still playing that last quarter and we wouldn’t have managed a forward 50 entry, I’m afraid. We shot our bolt in the first 2 minutes of the fourth. We were swarming all over them. If we’d scored at that stage there would have been no way back for the Pies. Unfortunately, we let them slip out of the noose and they ran over the top of us. If you’d told me before the game that Saad would play that well, I would have put my house on us.

The consistent umpiring shafting is far beyond what could be considered ‘rub of the green’ - there is a clear as day directive to not let North be successful from the powers that be. This is not tin foil hat stuff - it is evident to anyone who has watched the games. I feel as though in the AFLW, the relative lack of scrutiny means they think they can get away with the fixing, in a way which would not fly in the AFL (although 2015 prelim suggests different).

The other layer to this is the two AFLW games where we weren’t shafted were the two home games in Tassie.

fu** everyone else, go on and win the whole thing girls.

^What I said last week. Today just reinforced it. There is no way anyone could possibly say, that when the game was in the balance in the last quarter, that the two sides were treated fairly by the umpires. That’s not to absolve our girls of costly errors or lack of effort - but it was not a level playing field today, and by and large has not been for our girls all season. On one side of the spectrum, perhaps it’s the umpires falling into the ‘evil North AFLW twisting the rules to create a super team’ bullshit narrative. On the other end, it is part of a flat out directive from the AFL to prevent us having any form of success. I fear if it is the latter, that the club is too bent over a barrel to do anything about it.

Free kick count was 18-2 at 3/4 against Freo. Did the club do anything about that? Did Buckley, Amarfio or Crocker grow a pair and call it out? Of course they didn’t.

KGJ needs to do something to improve her speed and mobility - might be to lean down

pace overall is a worry thankfully we get elisha king back who will add to that

We also get access to draft Perri king with a late pick who is a speedy mid from tassie
I think we should try and trade her for draft picks or delist her.

Positives for 2021

The emergence of GILLY
Grace Campbell is as hard as a cat's head
Duffin back in the fold improved week on week
The midfield group just keeps on keeping on

Negatives

Sometimes I could swear I was watching the men's side from 2013-2016. The lapses in concentration. The inability to curb a dominant opposition mid. Leaking goals. Darren Crocker. JAYSUS

Based on last year....GF appearance would be the pass mark for 2021.

Disappointing to bow out this way given how dominate they were last year and couldn't quite replicate that form again.

Bring on 22.

Forgot I was on the AFLW thread for a moment and thought this was an elaborate trolling attempt

Clear-eyed view, we haven’t done well last year or the year before against the top teams. It was great to get that monkey off our backs against Freo last week. Today was a good showing against a team that only fell out of top spot a week ago, and a vastly improvement on our H&A game against them, so I hope the last two weeks give us some belief again heading into next year. The list needs some tweaks, and I wonder if we could scrape enough money together to get a specialist women’s coach again?

Men's team are clearly pissing it up against the wall so why not

Ah well now we make list changes I think 4-5 is the usual turnover
(take our 2 best tassie players late in the draft in Perri King and Amy Prokopiec and maybe 2-3 players before them from vic)

you’d think 4-5 of the below 6 would be gone

1. K Cox (last in first out)
2. Nestor
3. Hammond
4. smith
5. gibson
6. brooke brown

Just once, would LOVE you to say something positive about our players and not delist/drop them at every opp.
