Just wanted everybody to be aware of the amazing things our club is doing for the flood affected town of Rochester. Late last year the town I work in was inundated with a flood on the Campaspe river. Over 90% of the houses became unliveable. The school I teach at was unable to be used and we needed to bus our kids to Bendigo each day for lessons. I believe Shaun Atley worked tirelessly to help after the clean up (with a few other players as I understand it) I contacted Sonja Hood to see if the club could host us at the Huddle for a day as the kids needed something to brighten up their day. Since then the schools in Rochy have not only been to the Huddle but we got invited to a clinic at Arden St late last year. The club has "returned the favour" and come up to the town to give another clinic to the kids, host a training session with the Rochester Football club (as well as providing new jumpers to the club) and a spoke at a town meeting at the pub later that night. I have now found out that they are offering over 3000 memberships to the people of Rochy!
Every-time I contact somebody at the club about this they show genuine empathy and care about how the town is doing.
This is another reason why I love my club!
Thanks NMFC

Thank you for sharing the info. Great to see what the club can do. Spent a lot of time around that area holidaying and love it all. Good luck to you and your family and friends.

All the best for you lot.

Those floods were heavy last year.

Is there anything we can do to help? Its always later, after everything has calmed down and people elsewhere have got on with their lives that things get really hard.

Thanks, I'm one of the lucky ones. I work in Rochester but live in Moama so my house was not impacted.
