Yep. Personal reasons.Starc has withdrawn from the Champions Trophy?
Pathetic.Yep. Personal reasons.
Absolute trash from our one day side.
There is no way Short, Fraser-McGurk, Hardie, Dwarsius or Sangha are up to the grade at international level.
add the general public to thatHard to care too much when senior players, coaches and selectors don't..
Spot on. Shameful effort.Hard to care too much when senior players, coaches and selectors don't. But even if they treat non-World Cup ODIs like match practice, that was incredibly bad.
I'd throw in Sean Abbott who's been around for over a decade, played some good BBL cricket, but shown absolutely nothing at this level but somehow, at nearly 33yo, hangs around the team in all three formats as if he's the next big thing. As for Jake Fraser-McGurk, I'd put him on the next plane home. Hard to recall an Australian player so far out of his depth.
Anyway - here's Australia's last 7 batting 'efforts' in ODIs
- 126 (24.4) v England at Lord's
- 2/165 (20.4) v England at Bristol (rain affected winning run chase)
- 8/204 (33.3) v Pakistan at MCG (successful but ham fisted run chase)
- 163 (35) v Pakistan at Adelaide
- 140 (31.5) v Pakistan at Perth
- 165 (33.5) v Sri Lanka at Colombo
- 107 (24.2) v Sri Lanka at Colombo
1070 runs for 60 wickets off 203.5 overs. An average of 17.83, run rate of 5.25 and a wicket falling 20.38 balls - equating to being bowled out for 178 of 34 overs every time they bat. That's pathetic.
2/2 after 2.
Not going well.
Higher standard?Switch over to Kayo. European cricket league is back on, probably better entertainment.
TBF, in Dubai most foreign workers aren’t allowed out after work.Bangladesh batting first in Dubai against India. The crowd would be about the same size as the turnout for the shield match between Vic and NSW.
