Then you have blokes like Green in the side batting at 3? WTF is that? Is he on some sort of promise from selectors? If Webster has the 6 spot, Green sits out. Too bad.

I've got a lot of time for Green but you don't put a bloke who's such an awful starter at 3. You just don't. It makes zero sense to me. That, of course, leaves the small issue of who to put at 3 given Marnus hasn't fired a cracker for 2 years.
I don't know who that person currently is.
Just picking your best 6 bats and shovelling them into some sort of order is clearly not working at the moment

Not seeing much sign of talent ( let alone a brain) from Konstas..Plays at the ball away from his eyeline with hard hands.
Any test quickie who can move the ball a touch on a good length would be licking his lips.

I'd probably persevere with Green at 3 ( with Smith out) . Best option you have.

long term, think Green ends up at 4/5, not sure 3 is his best spot other than First Class
probably a few guys coming through we would be looking at for the middle order looking ahead,
short term though… the cupboard is sparse…

Smith will be back next Test and Green will probably move back to 4. Leaving Inglis and Konstas to fight for the opening spot, which neither really deserve

Nah He's shit, but I have a stupid dislike of him that I can't get over based on his form for the Renegades several years ago where hed get hit around the park and couldn't score and run to save himself.

In all seriousness he has improved but he's not what we need. Another bits and pieces all rounder. Knowing the selectors they'll go for Jack Edwards 1st before Sutherland cos of the NSW thing anyway.

What we need is Marnus to become super Marnus again, not a try hard Temu Steve Smith. His still young enough to have another 3-4 good years of Test cricket in him. The openers are going to be harder to find

The bolded as much as anything. Still have enough faith left in Khawaja that he can do a decent enough job for one more home summer. It's the other opener and repairing Marnus' head that are the bigger issues.
Hoping a step back is the best thing for Marnus atm
