Not that there is much we already didnt know but some interesting stats regardless:

KiwiRoo some very interesting stats on your mob

Jeez that photo looks like a before shot for a Just for men commercial.
Will be an interesting ashes this year.. you really need your older pace brigade to stay fit as not much in the wings.

NZ has a couple of good young quicks coming through who hopefully can stay fit. O'Rourke is a beauty. Quick with good bounce .Another guy Matt Fisher who admittedly I haven't seen bowl, but the word round the traps is he's pretty sharp.
Plus Matt Henry is still kicking around and has been one of the top bowlers in world cricket for a few years now

not sure how we'll go in the T 20 series against you lot . A number of injuries will hurt. Mark Bracewell is captaining so no Williamson or Santner

Talk in NZ about some serious discussion regarding a NZ side joining the Aussie big bash league

what do you Aussies think about that ?

I like the idea but hey its your party your rules
Probably 2x teams from NZ would be a good idea... one may be a little too stacked

yeah but its a professional league.. just as much chance of the good Kiwi players getting a gig with Perth or Brisbane as with a NZ side

I think 1 side to start with is great

They were also talking about playing some of the games at the summer holiday centres in NZ like Nelson, Pukekura park Mount Maunganui or Queenstown which would be just fantastic spots to watch cricket and they would get 10k attendances no problems

Forgive me mate, I don't get the chance to watch more of your domestic T20 league, but from memory, it was reasonably good and (somewhat) well attended

Id be shocked if NZ cricket accepted 🤷‍♂️

Don't really see an issue from Cricket Australia as they can play off a couple of additional games "Distance Blockbuster", "local NZ derby" - with 2 teams, Syd/NZ Team "Aust vs Kiwis B team" as well as probably only slightly more eyeballs and maybe some additional high profile int players

I think they would grab it with both hands
the Super Smash is a reasonable standard but it doesn't attract a TV audience , whereas the Big bash does. Its all about getting eyeballs on your sport

similar to what happened with the Warriors in the league..NZ domestic league was a good standard but not really watched. Now the Warriors would be one of the most supported sports clubs in both Aussie & NZ. They sell out every home game, plus get big support in Aussie

Probably suitable then, always think NZ cricket would have more objection than what Cricket Aust would... and would take away a competitive league as far as attracting Int players for us... just could see first NZ team having a good start with too much success then putting in a second after complaints
Always think your talent, relative to your size means you wont have any issue with good players... would think it may help with maybe some fringe state/club players jumping across but would expect it to be much (if at all) of an issue
Crowds, TV Audiences and revenue would be Cricket Aus thinking... would help them but not massively I would imagine

I know the rugby league viewer numbers went up a fair bit when they bought in the Warriors

There's 5m plus people here....that's another Melbourne. so you'd think Cricket Australia would be keen for a bit of that

'Summer' of cricket starts today. Aus V NZ T20 at 4:15pm.

Cricket on the 1st of October in NZ !

It will be greener than Kermits ar$e

forecasting snow for some parts of NZ as a cold southerley is blowing up the country..I think its supposed to be ok for the Mount though

Ravindra & Maxwell both hurt in training and wont play

I don't mind it to be honest.

You guys can afford to pay your way so it's hardly going to cost us any.

The only thing I can see being a bit of an issue is aren't you already watching Big Bash? What's in it for us, if there's going to be no real uptick in viewership?

I think there would be an up tick in viewership

Aussies like beating NZ teams and vice versa

Aussies trying so hard to lose this game ffs. Four outs so far haven't made it to ten runs. Pi55 weak effort. Thank God for Marsh.
All they are trying to do is hit sixes, terrible batting outside Marsh, he is a brute
