Is that a spike?

No.

It's just about time that the umpires can issue red cards and the match referees begin to suspend some of these blokes, unless of course there's a clause in the spirit of the game that allows for dissent.

Between touching players and this petulant behavior they aren’t helping themselves

DRS is a joke. Its gone against the touring side again as it has all series. Thats the 4th one. There is no consistency. All 4 have been costly as well. It just continues a horror tour for poms.

Its time the umps got the referrals right. Its been a joke all series. It hasnt changed the result of the series buts its all one sided. Shades of how games in India and Pakistan would be umpired in the old days. How can Foxtel be in charge of snicko. They have botched decision after decision. Either they are all out or none of them are out. No consistancy

I feel pretty strongly the spirit of the DRS has gone out the window. Originally brought it to eliminate the howler, it's now used as a weapon to pick up the closest of edges, or dispute an LBW that's missing or hitting by millimetres.

Sure, if the technology is there they can use it, but people shouldn't get so bent out of shape if the umpire gave it "not out" and it stays that way.

All that said, I'd agree the English have been on the end of more "inconclusive" or "Umpire's Call" than the Aussies this tour, but that's cricket.

VAR is the same.in football. Once technology is introduced you'll never limit it to just howlers sadly, because people will then redefine what a "howler" is on the belief technology can correct everything and we shouldnt accept any mistakes if they can be avoided. Slippery slope

And there we go,
