Did laugh at the headlines regarding the pitch India V Sth Africa. Both teams play on it and I can't be the only one who enjoys a low scoring test match. Beats the shit out of 4/567 dec and having a deflated opponent 7/211.

Markram 31 from 48 - great knock in the first innings.
Then SA going from 6/75 2nd innings and grinding out 153 on the back of 55 from Bavuma. I don't watch much cricket involving other countries, but it was very enjoyable yesterday

I'm with ya

Indian home form hasn't been great last couple of years

Just saw that Hazelwood is out . Obviously big loss. Who is likely to join Starc, Boland & Lyon ?
Abbot, Dogget or Neser ?

..wow...dont know anything at all about Dogget. has he got any pace ?

Yeah nice pace but not 150's. Gets good bounce. Is the in form state bowler. A class above everyone else for the last 2 seasons. Swings it both ways and hits the seam.

From my write up it looks we've got the next Denis Lillee. He should go all right but they're with Hazelwood and Cummins out the Poms might fancy their chances.

I thought more Hadlee than Lillee..

that was him in a nutshell..

Hazelwood & Cummins hardly bowl a bad ball so that pressure is going to be hard to replace.. especially as the soap dodgers will be looking to hit your lot off their length

Poms 140-5 at lunch first day.........you heard it here first

‘Baz Ball’ means England pretty consistently attack from the outset almost irrespective of opponent and conditions. They have been flaky early in their innings against bowlers who reliably hit the stumps (a tendency to play around straight, full deliveries) and bowlers who get lift/late movement (caught driving or cutting). The traditional good length outside off gets treated like it does in T20 by their top order. They are delighted Hazlewood is out as he possesses both forms of their Kryptonite.

Reading of conditions into winning toss decisions feels a larger factor than usual in this series. The range of potential outcomes is incredibly wide (/r than usual) given the uncertainty in lineups in both camps, mostly on the bowling side, but ties in nicely to the pitches and conditions I think we're likely to see given Nina has ****ed off her friend Nino for the past while. Don't think he's taking it too kindly and probably comes back with a vengeance next year, for those still seeing green at this time of year..

Still don't think England have the ability to shift down through the gears required in a coherent manner, which in effect is the whole point of test cricket (or historically, the reverse of) and will prove to be a structural difference between the sides even if Australia doesn't turn out strong teams/batting performances. Poms @ 2.35 to win first test then rolled into inflated Aus series win odds post-first test

spot on

will be interesting their approach to Boland. They smacked him around at times in the UK and they wont want him settling into bowling that hard length he does so well. So they'll be coming down the track to him big time i think. Wouldn't surprise me to see Carey standing up to the stumps a fair bit this series
