Ok, so working under the assumtion that the test doesnt end tomorrow though it very likely could, this wicket will get easier to bat on at some point.

Could that possibly be in the 4th innings, say on day 3 for instance, and we get the inverse result to Perth?

Day 3 is the best day on most Australian pitches, so looks about right. Hopefully they throw their wickets away. There will be a couple of good batting sessions this arvo too.

If we were still playing shield cricket, which I know is a novel idea, we could reward a couple of players in form in Sydney. We need two med/long term openers and a number three.

Would have thought Renshaw is the obvious replacement for Sydney. Don't think there's any test cricket after this series until August though, so is there any point bringing in someone else now?

The movement is still there and isn't going away and the pitch is getting quicker. If anything it is getting harder to bat on.
