These umpires...

The catch was clearly grounded before the player had stability (the marsh catch earlier should not have been paid either).

The batters had crossed.

FFS.

And the crowd. They should all be ejected.

They are tools.

Such a stupid rule though

Cricket is full of them

If we're talking about the Turner catch, my take is a bit different.

The ball was clearly under control before he went anywhere near the ground; DRS has its virtues but its over-reaching in this area

the arguement is he wasnt in control... i suspect the interpritation is when the fieldsman becomes stationaly.

Insanity. I was a keeper, any diving catch is basically not out according to the new rules, unless you roll over and hold your hands in the air like you're drowning and desperately looking for a life raft.

Just another reason to play golf, really. (As much as I love cricket).

Potts seems handy enough. If Bethell could have held on through this new ball they might have batted long enough to force a draw.

They might squeak this into the 170-180 range but I can't see Tongue lasting much longer than that. If Bethell had held on, maybe that's into the 220+ range.

Can’t wait till they bring that into the afl when taking a mark 😒

It should be a catch - he catch it and then fell.
Then he fell, grounding the ball twice before being in control of his motion, much like Starc in England who was still in motion when his hands and the ball touched the ground.

I did not see a replay, but I thought the Marsh catch earlier on may have been reviewed as I seem to recall that he was still moving when his hand (and possibly the ball) scraped on the ground.
