There are no other countries that are interested or want to play the pink ball test that is obvious, infact most Australians dont want to play it. Its only the commercial TV stations that are pushing for it just like them wanting to play a night grand final in the AFL. Some things are best left alone. The sooner its done away with the better it will be for test cricket in my opinion. As for the 100 that can be done away with as well for all I care but no one really cares about the 100. Test cricket has a long history and should not be messed with just to please the TV networks .

why don't they start test games 2 hours later and play into the evening more ?. Obviously would depend on time of year and location, but in NZ we have a long twilight so could easily still be playing cricket at 8.30pm ,even later in the South Island.

Can't agree with this. By most metrics (crowds, viewership, and most importantly how engaging the actual cricket is), pink ball tests have been a raging success. And what's more, people with 9 to 5 jobs can actually see some test cricket. For me, it has far more validity as a form of the game than T20. The Brisbane pink ball test this summer was a decent game of cricket.
That said, it is fundamentally different to red ball test cricket, to the extent that maybe it needs to be considered in a form of its own rather than as a part of a predominantly red ball series.
It's cricket, so if it's commercially viable then it will remain

You say that... but a NZ v AUS day night test in Dunedin would draw crowds like you rarely see and rate like crazy.

depends on your poison I guess. To me they seem contrived, with too much variability in the movement of the ball depending on the time of day. Aussie also get too much advantage as no other test nation play them

It's disgraceful given our proximity (as well as how competitive NZ have been for numerous years) how often we play each other. Blame CA, whose primary concern is maximising dollars.
I would love to be playing NZ in a test at the moment, but I'm in the demographic that switches off as soon as the test matches end.
I just think we need more cricket at this time of year where we haven't forgotten the result 5 seconds after it finishes

I think if NZ got more exposure playing in Aussie ,then we'd get competitive fast. We've shown that against the Indians. Plus as u say we've been a decent consistent cricket nation for coming up 40 years now

Not talking a 5 test series but surely we could organise some tests every couple of years... Plus i think the Aussies would enjoy coming to NZ & getting a totally different test experience than what u get in Aussie, and vice versa for the Kiwi fans going to Australia

Yep definitely agree. There was a comment on fb a test player can easily go back to t20 and play well but its nowhere near as easy going from t20 to test

I think it's definitely a tournament that draws entertainment either way however fans do genuinely support there team. In my case a try my hardest to support the Renegades

Same here. Renegades supporter too - seem to be the NM of the Big Bash so probably appropriate.

I hope both the Melbourne teams go well but lean to the Renegades - probably more of the underdog about them. There's really no point of difference between them though - the two stadiums are less than an hour's walk apart so they don't really represent anything different geographically. This, and the popcorn nature of the format, means any passion for either seems heavily diluted. People go and cheer and hope their team wins, but at the end, no one really seems to care too much about whether they did or not.
