... I was a keeper-bat so can't help ya!!! I was lazy as ****, had good hands and would be up the pegs as much as possible attempting to anchor the bats in their crease and bring LBW well into play facing all bowlers (except our U19 Aussie Opening bowler who was lightning) - who did get S Waugh out in a Shield game on the G so me standing back 25m to him and taking them over my head wasn't so cowardly haha

Faced Heath Davis who was pretty damn quick (and played for NZ) without a helmet on ( we only had 1 for our team back then) in 1st x1 cricket. Not a fun experience. Its a different game without a lid on I can tell you !

The Bangers have been replaced by Scotland in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh didn't feel it was safe if they played in India, so wanted to do as Pakistan was doing and only play in Sri Lanka. The ICC said "no dice... in you come Scots".

I knew you were alright KR!! Had a bit of a feeling. I wore a lid twice in my life after it wasn't compulsory in school cricket. Never up the pegs as I was too stupid. But yeah facing Renata Almeida in the nets was once - he was our opening bowler in England (he took a 5for for Gauteng) was really sharp and comfortably the strangest unit I've ever met - made donkey noises at the batsmen instead of sledging haha I was an 18 year old from Albert Park, I'd never seen anything like it (still haven't).

He made our other Safa, my housemate (English Citizen) from Pietermaritzburg look normal (he wasn't).

My bold prediction is that Aussie fast bowling is about to go down the gurgler.

Our bowling coaching is really really unsophisticated even at higher levels. And the obsession with creating enclosed local nets (meaning short run ups) is, according to my discussion with IMO the best fast bowling (and bowling strength and conditioning) coach in the world, going to result in at the very least increased injury rates. At worst we're going to see a real drop off in pace.

Must be a fast bowling thing because Heath was absolutely nuts as well. Used to run in with a big smile on his face which is really disconcerting !. he also had no idea where it was going too..which was also very disconcerting !

had some talent but got the yips and got plagued by no balls. The funny thing was that post cricket he had an accident with a forklift and half his foot got amputated.. said it could have helped him with his no balling problem !

119kph tonight on the run and gun. 4th bowling session back. By the time I get back into it next summer I'm hoping that turns into my genuine controllable speed which I'll be happy with. Every chance I end up faster than before my injuries which is wild.

My non run and gun balls are about 103-110 at the moment.
