Several commission employees, speaking on the condition of not being publicly identified, have in the past week raised concerns about senior officials using public funds for international travel on matters external to their responsibilities in regulating the building industry.

Much of this travel related to the World Green Building Council, which Mr Arnel chaired for many years. The commission's chief financial officer, Paul Crapper, was also on the audit committee of the building council.

Can I ask why when we were talking media before you didn't mention your dealings with journos that are really easily to find with a simple Google search?

Neither. Not to big note anyone here or even me, but aware of meetings last year where he was pushing for a change. And he was right to (like anyone else) at the time.

I feel that pressure produced the board to react and make significent changes. Ones that I'm happy with, which is why they'll get my vote.

I really don’t care who knows who. If I stood people would start to align me with people I know - doesn't mean they are supporting me. But if De Rauch is associated with Crapper then it would not cloud my judgement on who to vote for tbh. Pete did a lot of good for our club in his time, especially in $$$$s.

No BS - I had not heard Crappers name tbh until this nomination. I have never met him and still haven’t. Linking him to De Rauch changes nothing for me. Did he run then?

I really don’t care who knows who. If I stood people would start to align me with people I know - doesn't mean they are supporting me. But if De Rauch is associated with Crapper then it would now cloud my judgement on who to vote for tbh. Pete did a lot of good for our club in his time, especially in $$$$s.

Pete's $$$ were and still are much needed, not criticising him.

And as I said above, its a shame Paul didn't get onto the board back then.

I would have voted for him this time round if he could answer a straight question and wasn't rude to me lol.

I'm not entirely sure why we need Arch on the board being completely honest.

OK, you who was very deeply involved - and I'm very glad you were - in the events around 2006/07 and the Gold Coast murder plot didn't know this bloke who was running for the board then, never heard his name.

You know, many people would find that somewhat hard to believe, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

The other two nominees are clearly endorsed by said board. At least they put their cards on the table, unlike other candidates.
