I know Peter and his son from years ago.

Seeing the article in the Herald Sun yesterday was the first I knew of any such mention. In fact I’m away on business and picked up its existence from you guys referencing it on this site.

From my reading of the article clearly there is interest in an independent members advocate running for the Board, whether that independent is successful or not.

Can I just mention that I think JLG’s excellent grilling of Mr Crapper has been very beneficial for a lot of people on here, especially Paul Crapper himself. Personally, I may not vote for him. However, if he does win I would be very OK with that - based on his responses here. Overall, I believe he merits being on the board at some stage.

The fact that he's supported you previously for board elections, and now comes out in the media supporting you would lead the reasonable reader to infer he's supporting you again.

And that you are not an independent, but rather a Peter De Rauch aligned candidate.

That's fine by me, PdR has done plenty for the club - but you've been less than forthcoming on many issues here, so I reckon your claims about being independent are questionable.

There's no shame in saying you're aligned with a major club benecfator like PdR.

What does it change?

Honest question here - I know of de Rauch's name but not much else*. Understand he was involved at some point in the past but the fact he is supporting Crapper doesn't appear to be any different to Euge coming out in support of Sonja Hood.

Is the inference that Crapper will be a puppet? That he is a stalking horse for de Rauch and this will lead to division on the board?

And would de Rauch supporting him change anyone else's vote anyway?

Otherwise you seem to be throwing mud rather indiscriminately, hoping some of it sticks. And that's fine, you're entitled to do that, but I just don't understand the obsession, other than to attempt to sway the votes of the half dozen people in here who aren't voting for Sonja.
