There's people in here who are simply incapable of seeing women as anything other than victims, and therefore they are worthy of anything in life that they may desire. Rational thought on a case by case basis is simply dismissed. It's a form of mental illness. I believe strong independent women refer to them as "cucks".

There's also several ALP supporters in here masquerading as North supporters. Their politics come first, second and third, before the NMFC. They'd rather see the club die than back down on their political stances.

Anyway, has Sonja shown up to answer a few questions yet, or is she still running with the fallacy that she saved the football club from extinction, and that's all we're going to get?

Here purely to suss out who got the coveted Zondor Endorsement before I vote...
Gee the pull is strong to vote for Warwick Crapper as he was once in a Porno. :stern look

But I'll stick with the 3 Incumbents. Why is that you ask? Well because that will ensure that Ms Huddle will remain on the Board and in turn Tef will go all "Nuclear" on this Forum. Should make for some great reading. Fun Times Ahead. :stern look

Is it heresy for me to say that, if Paul is to be successful, it could only be at the expense of Arch?

Ben Buckley (Ex-NMFC player +++)
Glenn Archer (Ex-NMFC player)
Sonja Hood (Progressive, Huddle, Non-football stuff...)
Paul Crapper (Independent, Keep everyone honest, anti boys’ club vibe)
I left Archer out of my votes. His first period on the board coincided with the omnishambles that were the warchest and the Scott early extension, and I think it's not appropriate to have someone so closely aligned with selecting Shaw as coach as being footy director. He also only attended six of his last 11 board meetings, which is a piss poor effort, really. Also it's pretty easy to find an excuse to bring a footy person onto the board, so it's not as if we will be without filling that seat for long.

But there is zero chance Arch misses out.

The biggest challenge I see for any non endorsed candidate is just how transparent to members you can be. I have seen so many similar situations where unaligned people are elected to local council for example on the basis of 'for the people' and are then hogtied by the confidentiality of discussions. I have challenged councillors over why they did not tell their ratepayers certain things only to be told the discussions were confidential, or commercial in confidence. How would you handle these types of discussions on the board?

My acceptance of a Board position would be dependent on the Boards recognition of my role as a members advocate within a member based organisation. I would seek agreed positions around engagement and transparency of decision making.

So basically if they don't accept this they cannot in fact be at the head of a member based organization.

This is something that many of us recognize already.

No I’m a city slicker....

My work with the government in the past has seen me actively supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Which has included Rumbalara, a Plumbing Union Indigenous Plumbing Apprenticeship Scheme (pretty funny given my surname 😁) and on the Board of Common Fate focused on reconciliation and creating opportunity for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait kids.

Good enough for me Paul Crapper

Anyway, because you don't seem to be emotionally invested enough in this thread, I have the following question for Paul Crapper – Do you think that hugely talented but injury-prone serial drunkard Taylor Garner should get a contract extension?

Surely that’s a look at where Garner is at mid year (is he injury free and in the best 22) and decide from there.

Hmmm. They’re watching tho for sure
That’s the thing.
Increase Hobart games from 2-3? We were never consulted.
Increase Hobart games from 3-4? We were never consulted.
Increase in membership pricing each bloody year, even for continuous loyal members? Never consulted.
Delay in receiving membership packs? We were never consulted.
Possibility of co location that was only prevented by Jeff Kennett stepping in and only made public when he leaked it to Caro? We were never consulted.

The club has never been transparent and never been upfront about any major issue, particularly those with a severe emotion attachment to it that tug at member heartstrings.

But, the club can ask for debt reduction funds and to box on and for the coin to build the VFL and AFLW clubrooms and we mobilize immediately.

Paul Crapper this is the challenge for yourself. You are currently a member now and nothing more than a paid up member. You are not privy to any dialogue nor any data that deemed club IP. If you do make it onto the board, obviously within reason us as members would expect you to filter through and relay concerns and issues or atleast update us when it relates to any decision of announcement of significance.
Your out in the dark and so are we so if you do get a seat at the table how hard would you push so that the members aren’t frozen out until the club needs cash? Its a pathetic relationship and one the club should be ashamed of.

I dunno, I reckon those people just support that particular direction the club is taking, which Paul himself supports.

The main thing Paul has going for himself is an independent voice. I’m not sure in the event he won we would actually see more transparency but I hope we would.

My comment has nothing to do with Paul.

AFLW memberships are actually worth three votes, and if a woman holding one votes for another woman, that's multiplied again by three to counter the entrenched misogyny women face.
