He'd need to be doing it for a long while to build believable rapport as well as a presence.

Not meaning to make this all about Paul Crapper, but we've seen this before - someone turning up to be "man of the people" just before an election, then disappearing straight after. Like I say, not Paul's fault entirely as he was invited to this forum by one of us, it was not his own idea. But just for future reference for any lurking potential board candidate - don't turn up here 3 weeks before an election and expect to be treated as one of us. That doesn't wash around here. You need to do your time to be taken seriously.

On top of everything I friggin forgot to vote .

Think we should leave Paul alone now. He turned up maybe in an ill-advised manner and copped it more aggressively from some quarters than perhaps he deserved imo.

Regardless, odds are he didn't make the board and so there is no need vilify someone big enough to come on here in their own name in the aftermath.

Note: had never heard of him, never spoke with him on here nor have I ever met him since. As above I didn't even vote for him (or anyone else..) But thought he copped the rough end of the pineapple.

What would be the most disappointing - that he just found out he lost, and he took his bat and ball and went home? Or that he just found out he won, and cancelled his account because he never had any intention of engaging with supporters once elected?

Most disappointing would be to find out that he realised he was the only one in here using his real name, so he cancelled that account and created GunSchwatta.

He should have stuck around and built a constituency and a campaign for next year.

The only way onto the board is to make yourself undeniably the members favorite.

I dont know of any embargo as I have no official advice. But the status quo remains - thats obvious.

I've been banging on here for a while now that Paul Crapper could have run with exactly the same campaign promises of representing the members, but with the board's blessing as a nominated casual director and therefore an incumbent. Of course, a lot of the anti-establishment rebels around here would have rejected him on the basis that he was suddenly a crony and not an independent.

On the other hand, if I chose to run as an independent but promised to strip the club of assets, trade away all future draft picks, sign James Hird as coach, and auction off the AFL licence to the highest Tasmanian bidder, then I bet I would probably still get a ridiculous amount of support from certain types just because I was an "independent".

I too didn’t vote because he didn’t convince me enough to vote him in and thank **** I didn’t.
Pretty disappointing.

Represent members was his key and abandons the most concentrated social medium for north members to communicate as soon as he found out?
