Reckon a few of our boys would love the extra push at training; especially during the pre season.

Curtis and bailey with muscle would be pretty scary.

100% with you on this. Both players that have massive scope for improvement if they can get their bodies right. Bailey needs a stack of size and maintain that workrate and he could be a weapon.

Curtis needs to put on 5-6kg's over the next 2 seasons then cut back. He too could be a very dangerous matchup but he needs to keep one hand on a position whilst building a body and it will take minimum 2 more pre seasons - if he can't stay in touch with the first 26 players I can see him just fading away. Has plenty of tricks though, if he can develop his body he would be an incredibly difficult matchup.

Could both be a real point of difference vs other teams.
Gotta keep improving because they're going to find it hard to push the likes of ford etc out of a spot.

I am so f*kn happy with how much we have invested in this area.

Gives us every opportunity to succeed sooner rather then later. So sick of players taking 10 years in our system to become *elite aerobically.

*North elite = not AFL elite
I'm so sick of this mentality that new players have to take 3-4 years before they come good.
The new SC team will change that.

Been saying this for years. Until we get our fitness and strength right we will never be successful

“There’s a bit of a different philosophy with the new strength coach (Kevin White) coming in. There’s more of a focus around power and speed.

During the broadcast of yesterdays intraclub MacPherson could not have been more indirectly scathing of the previous high performance team. In discussing what the new team had implimented over the last three months he basically inferred that the previous team were rank amateurs and a deteiment to the development of our younger players.

Every year on here (going back at least 10 years) we would ask why isn't this guy putting on weight, why can't this guy run etc. etc. etc. Year after year. Talking about the same players. While we'd watch other clubs turn draftees into well-rounded athletes while we'd be delisting fat and slow kids or skinny and weak kids.

By the end of the Scott/Joyce era we'd become so used to low-standards around player development we'd get shocked when someone like Jy or Larkey actually came on.

And we had jona Segal since around 2000 not sure how he survived 2 decades
