If he was honest the thread title would be "AFLW sucks and women shouldn't play footy and they certainly shouldn't be coaching footy" instead of wrapping this up as some serious conversation about about our coaching panel.

Lets not be silly here. This is a legitimate serious thread. I do want to discuss senior coaches and how we find the funds for it.

We are 1 coach short. We need to fill that void this offseason. As much as we look for senior leadership, we need one more decent tactician in that box.. and Kearney aint it

Explain what you've noticed about her tactical acumen, her relationship to players, her communication skills, her organisational skills etc that you feel are so lacking.

Inexperienced in AFL systems, no runs on the board, has never lead a team of men on a football field, tactically inept in mens footy, soft approaches, gathered Will Phillips under her wing and thought an education degree is where its at..

I think Daisy has her covered and I dont believe she is ready to coach mens footy. Not yet, she will be an assistant coach one day.

Our team is not fit for experimental exercises.. its NOW OR NEVER

Its not. I want a senior addition coach for our Senior footy team and would rather the club focus on filling that void than paying a few aflw players in that cap.

We are no where near our ceiling on AfL coaching soft cap. We all of a sudden have the highest paid AFLW tyrant of a team. AFLW Dogs are not a poor football club.. they are funded really well.

We need to find a balance between the two clubs and get a ****ing decent assistant coach into our club

how many players are paid under the soft cap? Why dont other clubs utilise this exploitation? Absolute garbage. No other club does it, we are 100% sacrificing a senior assistant coach for the betterment of the AFLW team. Its point blank staring you in your eyes. How many goals have been kicked against the last 3 weeks?

If you believe the mens program hasn’t been scaled down from parity to boost this womens team then I cannot debate with you. There is no chance in hell this AFLW team would fit in a AFLW cap without sacrificing spending on the mens coaching program

Our CEO and La Presidenta have put their eggs into this program.

We could be a 1 goal vs top team in W league and have Adam Simpson as a coach.. but nahh, lets see where this goes

I want parity and I know we are sacrificing funding into the mens program to push the womens program upward. Its a business model that is 100% the forefront of the board to try and obtain new investors.

I want a full board of senior coaches and I want both teams to be successful.

Ummm no? Where its lacking is no legitimate subdivision of womens footy.. I mean, women can go and coach in under leagues, they can go and learn under Mick Mcguane and various other coaches before jumping into the big league? Micks a great coach, why not learn down there? Why elevated into the big league??? Ohhh, because we can exploit the cap, sacrifice a legitimate assistant coach to boost the womens team

The evidence that the women’s team is hurting the men’s is… that they are bloody good?
You don’t understand that this is not a soft-cap thing. The Kearney money is outside the cap.
You don’t understand the value she brings. There is massive value in a more diverse set of experiences and styles.
You don’t think there’s anything in having the drive and spirit of an out and out champion, every-year-All Australian, full of grit. For some reason.
You don’t understand the energy, and yes, even a bit of money, that would come from a women’s premiership.
Most of all, you don’t get that the women’s team is not an ‘extra’. It’s core. It’s a North Melbourne team and I support it full throatedly. I don’t care if I don’t get bragging rights at work. I LOVE the intimate nature of the games and the access tot the team. I LOVE the culture of our women and there is a ton for us all to absorb and learn from them.

2 clubs? Adelaide and GWS have zero issues in off field finances.. 2 clubs. Thanks for information. We are not am AFL owned organisation as those other two teams are, they’ll have funding coming out the wahzoo

Emma Kearney is not paid under the club's soft cap. There is an exemption which she qualifies for and as a result, there is no part of the men's program which suffers for Emma being a member of the development staff.
