Because I love the football team. They hooked me amongst my brother who is a Hawthorn supporter, I have always like a blue collar battler since I was a kid.

And no, they have not brought me any joy other than a few signings and drafting some really good players. Getting Clarkson at the time was awesome.. I really couldn’t give a **** about the clubs public position on Rainbows and other Social issues. As long as they deal with it in house.

I can understand that perspective from a supporter, but when you are running a multi-million dollar organisation in a multi-billion industry, you need to maintain your social licence to operate and that includes being committed to various social programs outside the core area of kicking the football.

You may not always agree with the relevant programs or certain aspects of them, but the Board would be considered negligent to not have them.

I also love the working class background of the team, but also that we have always been ambitious to be successful.

That is, why have a lot of time for the President because she had the ambition to go and sign Clarkson.
