i do not rate nielson, not sure what others have seen in the vfl to make them think he worth another year

Mate, watch the replays of our last two VFL games, both available online. Theres a reason we all rate him, guaranteed you'll change your mind, unless you've put him in the Gibson corner of tenacious delusion and consistent hallucination. In which case we all know you're never going to.

Matthew Taylor - VFL - Now we got this guy over from WA. I think to just cut him like that after 1 year is a little harsh. Would prefer to see if he develops next year before making such a call for not giving him enough time to develop and settle in etc.

* The issue I have is Sam Gibson. I think Mountford next year needs to move into the midfield next year permanently and if Jacobs comes good....injury wise (which is a real worry for me) who will be coming in when good. Then we also have Ahern who may or may not be good (he'll start in the VFL no doubt). Then if we sign up Dusty and/or Josh (sorry I should say when we sign Josh ) then players like Sam can't be taking spots.

Delisting Ben Jacobs would be a terrible decision, still relatively young and clear best 22 when fit. Played one game back and won 45 touches before going down with an unrelated ankle injury. Also, we can't afford to delist both Hansen and Thompson. Lachie will probably leave as a free agent, but he still has value and we'd definitely keep him if no one else takes him. Scooter has been pretty good this year, and with Durdin and Nielson still not quite ready I reckon we'll give him a one year contract, at the end of which he is hopefully depth.
