All from the rookie list at one stage, jeez how about a few national draft picks

They have got the edge over this years draftees having been there last year, plus, they are on the senior list now and have obviously impressed, not that you have seen much pre-season games except for the one on telly.

As for the No Change bit, I agree on that. a) We don't need to make changes when no-body is forcing their way in, and b) after a) why change a winning side.

We have momentum, WC Eagles does, will be a good game, but with a query over Cox and Judd, that will have a strong response to the Pies side in the late change department.

Be good to see Shannon get a run though, but that would mean Wakes (who tore it up at Subi last year) will miss out. So no need to put Cox in...Nicholls and Toovey may come in however with a missing Cox, and then if Judd would miss, would give Nicholls a change to not have too much on his plate as the 5th-6th mid will be damaging.

It's probably about right - I don't think anybody was absolutely shocking enough last week for them to get dropped.

Those 3 guys as the emergencies have probably been the most consistent through last year and in the pre-season, going through until last week, so the coaching staff doesn't really need to see them play at Williamstown again, as it is pretty clear what they have to offer.

Now it is just time to wait and see who in the senior side has LESS to offer than them.

Disgrace. Couldnt find a change from last weeks rabble. Richards for one did nothing at all last week. But then again what can you expect when your coach doesnt even have a game plan.

Free free at least - sniffs the air after years in confinement!

Mad senile old Mick.

Richards in PERTH - WASTE OF TIME .

If Josh was fit I would go with him alone - plus Travis.

Bring in some run - either Cox or ****

No change = no chance.

Bloody hell!!!!

Why do we need the run though, I mean, atleast Mick is concentrating on winning the game rather than using it as a match to see how the youngsters go.

The question is, why do we get rid of Richards when we haven't seen enough of him. If anyone is to have a test, it is him. See how he goes against a proper side and see how he can perform to give an advantage to the midfield who is playing against the best midfield, despite no Cousins, Cox and Judd (if true).

We have had enough persistence with Richards, but no on the field. It is easy to persist with a guy off the field by not delisting him, i mean, we could have a 40th player just be their for the sake of seeing a record. Richards is capable of providing enough on the field.

Last week, Guy Richards played 32% game time...that isn't enough. Fraser looked to be the man that got beaten. Richards had 8 hitouts, with 38% to advantage (the 3rd best in the league). If he played 100% game time, he may have got 20 hitouts which is a good effort, something we never see.

Persistance off the field is easy...we need to persist on the field. We need to see what he is capable of not only in the ruck, but fitness stakes as well, can he play the majority game in the ruck...because he needs to, he is our no.1 ruckman, with Fraser's fitness worry.

just a question....if we do win...all those who are criticising the no change...then what will u think....mick is a genius???....i definitly think there was really no one warranting a dropping as it was only round 1 ffs, and richards needs to be played in the seniors, we cant expect him to improve in the 2s and he needs at least another 2 games to try and prove himself...then im all for bringing in bryan...

Lets see if richards can improve on his 7 possessions and 8 hitouts.
hes averaged 8 possies over his career and 12.2 hitouts lol
kicked a solid 3 goals total too!

Cameron Cloke gets 6 poessions and 15 hitouts against the card board cut outs of Richmond and is praised.

It wasn't exactly the stats that saw his praising, it was his presence and his technical game. I know his opponents were very very ordinary, however Cam was brilliant as a tap ruckman and he looked very fit, and one of his kicks was Buckley like it was that good. In the centre bounce, he had 5 hitouts to advantage IIRC, in the time he was used. That is what we need Richards to do, because we all know his capabilities.

And Cameron Cloke probably WOULD be a brilliant tap ruckman if the average height for ruckman was 193cm like Graham Polak.

However, the average height for a ruckman is 200cm, and that means that when he's playing against full-size AFL ruckman, he's pretty useless.
