Remember Mick said a fortnight ago that there's no rules about swapping emergencies?!? I smell a controversy on the rise...

I'm predicting a late Macaffer inclusion. What better debut for the Caff, especially with the talks of Rocca, Medhurst or Didak in doubt. I think he could come in for one of them.

Im thinking the same way, but I think training tomorrow will reveal all..

There are rules on swapping emergencies you have to give the AFL notice. We often change our emergencies around, but they always give a fair amount of notice (24hrs).

cant be done any later then the day before and it does incur a penalty as does Changing your 22

Just on that, I was reading the Laws of the Game pdf just before, because I wanted some clarification on what the actual laws are on posting of team sheets, all I could find is the folllowing;

5.3 TEAM SHEETS
5.3.1 Details
Unless otherwise determined by a Controlling Body, a Team
Sheet shall:
(a) list the names and numbers of the Players in the Team;
(b) identify the Interchange Players;
(c) identify the captain; and
(d) list the name of the coach, Team Runner(s) and any
other Official participating in the Match.
5.3.2 Completing and Lodging Team Sheet
Unless otherwise determined by a Controlling Body, an Official
of each Team shall complete and lodge with a field Umpire its
Team Sheet no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled
commencement of a Match.

So unless the AFL has sent an amendment of this particular law out to each club, it is not against the rules of the game to change any of your 25 players as long as you do it before the 30 minute prior to game time deadline.

So, we might well see some "odd" changes yet.

Why tomorrow, coach?

Re: AFL team

I'm happy with that side. We should realistically beat Essendon comfortably.

If Didak is a late omission then Brent Macaffer should get the nod.
Rubbish.

Malthouse made an interesting comment today where he said both teams have usually been ahead of the other on previous occasions like Essendon's dominance early in the first few ANZAC Day games but Collingwood's stronger team in recent years yet he thinks both teams now have a similar list in terms of talent and that both teams are very evenly matched which I tend to agree with.

Really hope Medhurst and Didak don't play. Both can be damaging when on and I'd prefer not to have to worry about them at all.

And the headline reads:

"MM, in a desperate attempt to win back the interwebz crowd, scores epic lulz!" :D

Certainly wasn't targetting me as I think we have a better list then yours already

You are on our board... Which means no one cares to negotiate with you. So I say.... stop flattering yourself. Consider yourself ignored.

By the way, provide a source or your words are considered gibberish. :thumbsu:

But Magpies coach Malthouse, speaking on Thursday ahead of his 10th Anzac Day game in charge of the Magpies, believes one side no longer has a distinct talent advantage over the other.
"In the past there have been times when there has been a massive gap between the sides on the ladder but I have watched Essendon in the last couple of weeks and like us they have won one and lost one," Malthouse said.
"There is not much difference between our best (form) and their (best) form and equally there is not much difference between their worst and our worst so it should be an even competition (on Saturday)."

It's a mendacious statement from Malthouse, nothing more, nothing less. A pre match excuse if we happen to lose which is, rather improbable, IMHO. I wouldn't look into it if I were you.

Cheers for that matty. I really had no idea about the specifics of the situation. I'd think that, as MM has said, we'll see how training goes tomorrow and perhaps post an updated team on the CFC website or just leave it til gameday.

I'd be thinking Macaffer is on standby for any one of Rocca, Medhurst or Didak.

If all three are fit to play, we may see one of Corrie or Wellingham come in for a big, probably one of the Browns. With Daniher out injured we look a bit top heavy in comparison so I'd expect to see one of the emergencies play regardless.

I think Medhurst and Didak will play.

Not too sure about Rocca - anyway if it is wet i wouldnt want to go in too top heavy.

Maybe we should bring in a small forward/midfielder type for Rocca like a Macaffer/Sidebottom for their debuts.

I wouldnt be surprised if Mick is just playing a few pre-anzac day mind games and all of them play.

Yet again we could see a few changes come tomorrow morning.

Nevertheless Pies by 26points.

Medhurst and rocca are both fit enough to play, one may miss due to weather but there are NO fitness concerns

I cant say the same thing about didak, who has been AWOL all week

I think we'll make two changes: Sidebottom for Rocca, Macaffer for Didak.

Didak won't play, Macaffer is the obvious choice. I can't see why we would risk Didak when the injury is hampering his output anyway, unless the week off training has seen a full recovery.

Rocca said he pulled up sore in addition to the knock he had? Despite the fact that he should tear a young Bomber defender a new one, it won't be appropriate weather to do so for a man mountain. Sidebottom to come outside the emergencies (we'll cop the fine).

Another thing: Given that Daniher is out, if we were to play Rocca, who would be their third tall defender given Ryder plays forward? This basically applies if Leigh Brown plays anyway, he'll spend some time up forward. Arrrggh we're going in too tall if we line-up as named!

And sounds like McVeigh it out for them (according to their board). Good news.
