Rocca out Macaffer in if the weather stays like it is regardless!
last time i remember rocca playing a wet match at the G he had four shots in teh first qtr against port

sure he only kicked one from those shots, but he isnt entirely useless when the heavens open

Yes, but only if there is a medical certified injury

Surely both Medhurst (concussion) and Rocca (bruising behind shoulder) both would be able to get medical certificates stating their injuries, thus opening up our options for a Sidebottom or anyone else to come in from outside the 25.

Rocca suffered the injury in the marking contest where Merrit deliberately kneed him in the back just below his shoulder blade (from which he didnt even get a free kick). I'd say Rocca is next to no chance of playing, with the weather, his soreness and this injury, and taking into consideration 17 games left after this.

Medhurst will probably play, the weather wont be a factor for him, and unless he pulls up sick or sore from today's training session he will play.

My bet would be;

In: McCaffer (I reckon he's already been told)
Out: Rocca

Apparently Mark McVeigh is out!

Boo yeah!
good news for us (get better mark i enjoy watching you play)

He and watson are their prime movers, Stanton more a receiver type with questionable foot skills

No excuses anymore come on pies

I reckon there may be 2 forwards in doubt - La Caf to replace one and Corrie another. You wouldn't pick Corrie unless as a forward option given his field kicking has been ordinary from all reports. But I would have thought Sidebottom might have gone ahead of Wellingham post last weeks match reports. Meh, sounds alright to me, but I would be wary of going too tall, especially with Essendon bringing in zippy, smaller types.

Good luck for the match guys should a be a cracking game , aleast you people are waiting for the match to be over before braging that you have the 4pts on the board un-like another game essendon played in this year ,

whats the story with didak i have him in my DT what kinda injury is he in doubt with ?

im tipping pies by 19 - to many changes to essendon to win 5 changes atm that is WAY to many to win a game.

Agreed, it is in effect a non issue.
And I tend to agree with you that Macaffer will come in, but it maybe for Dids

hamstring injury mate

and no ANZAC day game is ever in the bag until late on game day, so often a tough contest between two teams that shouldnt be near each other in terms of talent

Edit didak was once again absent at training, medhurst and rocca did everything and looked fine

arrh hope its not to bad don't wanna use a trade , hope didak plays being anzac day, (sorry for the DT rumble)
i think its just a straing like shaw so a week possibly 2.

No doubt over Didak

Collingwood says Alan Didak should play on ANZAC Day
Latest headlines

ALAN Didak was a no show at Collingwood training on Friday, but the club says he remains in the frame for Saturday’s ANZAC Day blockbuster against Essendon.
The star forward has laboured with a calf complaint this week but completed a light session behind closed doors on Friday morning before the main group trained on Gosch’s Paddock.
“We’re confident he’ll be right to go,” football manager Geoff Walsh said of Didak.
Injury clouds have also been hovering over fellow forwards Paul Medhurst and Anthony Rocca after both copped heavy knocks in last week’s win over the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba, but they completed the 45-minute session on Friday unhindered.

The Club setting our minds at rest.:thumbsu:

arrh didn't train but should play that does not sound good at all , i would of felt better if he trained for 30mins and they said he should play then not train at all

surely you'd prefer Dids to be out for the sake of Essendon rather than worrying about your DT.

The best case scenario was Didak out.

Sounds like Rooca and Medhurst will play as long as they pull up well from this morning's training session. But we all know Didak is one of those players who deosnt play well with injuries.

Didak can have a rest, and with Rocca and Medhurst in, we can look forward to Shaw, Maxwell and Didak coming back next week.

Didak needs to rest if he is carrying any injury, probably means any 3 of those emergencies might play now, although I'd still prefer McCaffer to make his debut to Corrie playing. I wouldnt mind if Wellingham got a game though, he ahs the ability to play at senior level.

lol good point , but im playing my mate who is a MUST BEAT (and a pies fan) and ill never hear the end of it if i lose this is the one game i need to win for the year (apart from finals) ( again sorry for the DT rumble)

I would not be surprised if both Rocca and Dids are out.

With it being wet it means more body contact slower game. Being a forward most of your body contact comes from behind and I would assume Roccas badly bruised after that knee in the back.

Rain and a heavier ground will also not suit Dids injury... calf or hamie

Both are great players so who knows.

.

Rubbish, Didak played the last 5 games of 2006 needing a knee reconstruction with partially torn ligaments and was still tearing it up. He played through the majority of 2007 with persistant leg complaints from the operation (think he just may have done some good things in that final series if I remember correctly)
Because he can play small forward, and has those beautiful hands, he can certainly play restricted.

I wasnt bagging Didak, it's a physical thing. Because of his short legs and reliance on acceleration over speed, he struggles when he has lower leg injuries especially.

Didak isnt soft, I would never say that, but he does rely on a near 100% fit body to perform at his brilliant best, just like most players.

What I was trying to say is he's better off having a rest for a week or two, if that is going to solve the problem, as there is still a long way to go this season, and we have to manage players to be up and firing in September.

Having said all that, I actually hope he plays, because they have obviously been light with him this week, and he might well just have recovered in time to tear Essendon apart, especially without Welsh or Mcveigh to annoy him.

i dont think dids will play , i really hope he does but i dont think he will, on the other hand meddy trained really good and rocca trained ok.:thumbsu:
