I'd be really disappointed, not to say pissed off, if Hampson was ommitted.
The guy is our future no.1 ruckman, therefore for development we need to play him as much as possible in 2008. No reason what so ever to omitt him.

I hear what your saying & I want him to play as much as possible as well.

I think he might be omitted this week, due to Pies not having lots of talls & the weather forecast is average with some rain predicted.

Outs: Hampson,Russell,Houlihan

Ins:Setanta,Browne,Anderson or Armfield.


Setanta provides some versatility & can be used forward/back/ruck.

Browne/Anderson/Armfield provide some defensive/tackling pressure.

Browne has already shown he can play back/forward/midfield.

I like the 3 way ruck rotation. Hampson should remain.

I think the Match Committee need to set a precedent and drop players that aren't putting in, regardless of whether they are 2nd year players or 5 year players.

Scotland, Carrazzo, Houlihan & Simpson come to mind.

This time last year the guy was in the Ants 2s, he is developing very well under the structure the blues have in place for him, i agree that he will be our NO1 ruckman but in the process of that happening he will find himselfe in the Ants every now and again as he learns the game.

He played for the Ants seconds at his own request.

Being new to the game he identified that the best thing for his development would be gain as much experience as possible in ruck contests.

Sharing ruck duties in the Ants firsts with Aisake and McLaren? Jacobs? was not going to get him to as many ruck contests as playing the majority of games in the ruck for the Ants seconds.
