Preview No Changes vs Saints

IN - A game plan that involves moving the ball forward quickly. It honestly was painful to watch us yesterday! Every time we get the ball we are too scared to turn it over that we do these short sideways kicks and then let the other team get back and fill the space. We are then forced to kick to a contest where we are usually outnumbered or we kick to the other teams advantage.

Also, we've all said it for years but why doesn't it change? How can the coaching staff not see it? Players being played in the wrong position. Jaensch has been getting a bit of the ball and trying hard but he's not a defender's a***hole. That one that Parker marked at the top of the goal square proved it, he didn't expect Parker to go up for it which he did and took the mark uncontested. Also he overrates his kicking ability and is a terrible decision maker which cost us goals time and time again. Move him up the ground please!

At best we're looking at 2x 50:50 Melbourne trips. We should beat gws, but they're a team on the rise and if we're 0-4 we'll be going in under a lot of pressure.
Western Bulldogs would be 50/50 but we should beat st kilda.........

IN: Some grunt and intimidation.

Half watching the Port game while checking SANFL stats…noticed Boak remonstrate, Schulz fight back against Thompson post a little shove.

What do we do?

No one remonstrates, no one sticks up for a teammate.

Players like Danger and Talia pull up to avoid hurting opponents who get in their road in a marking contest when a perfect opportunity presents to take ball and player and make a statement by legitimately ironing out over zealous defenders.

C'mon Crows, surely getting pushed around like whipping boys is making you angry?

Your skills may be crap but that doesn't excuse lack of physical aggression.

I'm also looking at Rutten, Jenkins who should utilise their bulk far more.

Would any opposition fear us? No chance:(

What planet are you on. Saints 50/5o maybe.

We're nowhere near dogs
I'm on Earth. But people predicted a month ago that St kilda would be wooden spooners and now after the back of a few wins against melbourne and gws they are an extreme danger. lol

Read some knocks on Jenkins game around the place, yeah he kicked 0.4 or whatever it was, but his work up the ground was great and he actually attempted to make space and give us a target to kick to long down the line which no one else has so far this season. Decent first game back and will only get better from here you'd think.
Anyone still bagging Pods seriously has no ****ing idea. He was very good, deserved more than the one goal and proved a lot of people that he still has what it takes. Cant even begin to imagine our forward line right now if we hadn't taken him for nothing....

Changes:
- CEY for Petrenko. Had 26 disposals and 8 clearances today. Play him across HBF and release Brodie to lend a hand to Mackay. Just quietly I wish we could have 50 Brodie Smiths, that kid is a jet

in terms of forced changes:
- Lyons for Grigg if he doesnt pull up.
- If Kerridge & Thommo dont come up either then **** knows. Riley Knight? Promote Battersby or Cameron?

After all we can only improve, we can't get any worse
Bailey i like to think i can get a handle on gameplans and weaknesses ......but FFS i have absolutely no idea what's going on ATM

1. Last year most times we had a +1 ..either Reilly or Henderson ....I can't see any loose Crows helping the defense out other than Sloane

2. We said we'd only move the ball forward ......yet we continue to go backwards + Sideways which gives enough time for the opposition to flood our forward line

3. We REFUSE to kick long to a kPF so that Eddie can crumb .......or our structures are woeful and everyone is out of position. How many times did we stream out of defense and then have to hold the ball rather than kick long into our forward line??

4. I cannot understand whay we are standing off our men a few mtrs giving them enough time & space to collect & dispose by hand or foot with some precision.

5. I cannot understand how the opposition is able to kick 3-4 goals in quick succession so frequently with so little pressure

6. I have not been able to understand why you bring the ball thru the centre corridor at HB when we lead the league in turnovers

7. EVERY time we revert to a predominant kicking game we look so much better ......handball has not allowed us to clear the congestion with any real purpose.

8 In 2012 we came dow the flanks and centred the ball at the wings or our HF .......this and last year we're centreing the ball at our HB ...which is the crux of our problems

I could go on & on ....i am so confused because it's not one thing ....it seems our system is in total disarray

Where exactly has Smith been playing ....wing?

Seems to be getting the ball more thru the midfield and in goal scoring distance .......but is that off a wing or HB ? anyone know?

Rutten has been fine, I don't see why so many people continue to want him out. As long as he isn't keeping Hartigan out he should play 15-20 games this year.

Brown is still only 21, is our small defender of the future, and has been fine. There's no point in dropping him, especially if we're playing youth.

So far this year Mackay has, to me at least, looked far better and quicker than he has for the past 3 years. We already struggle mightily in outside run/pace, and we don't have any legit outside runner types who are ready to come in and play AFL.
I have been a career supporter of Rutten even early when no-one knew a position the forward may play and called him slow

However, even though the last few years he has been a slow started ...he really looks to be laboring over the ground \\

Other clubs have identified that and are playing thru trucks opponents ......he may not last the season out

Rutten as general of defense has had too many go sailing over his head... plain and simply isn't part of the solution anymore...
Mackay - on thin ice... can and needs to do more... agree on the youth of brown and to persist with him...

He has a direct opponent to look after. It's up to the coaches, the loose man and the midfield to run back and help out. Rutten can't just leave his opponent. There's also a defensive coach. Gees...

Didn't see that the Saints pushed the Eagles for three quarters at Patersons and a goal down at three quarter time before being outscored in the last 4 goals to 1. I don't see any easy games coming up for us if we continue to play this sort of football. We don't respond well to desperate tackling, we are the turnover kings and conceded the most points of any team in the league after 3 rounds. Sando and the coaching panel don't look like they have any answers and the lack of any real game plan is worrying the hell out of me. Who cares what the changes are if we continue to play this way. Deck chairs on the Titanic situation.
