Not sure how you can say the Crows chocked when they got beaten by a side that has had their measure for a copuple of years.

The Eagles get Adelaide in their strength area - the midfield - becasue they have a better one. Adelaide's problem is not chocking it is reliance on winning well in the midfield because their forwards aren't good enough. Losing their FF earlier in the year didn't help and losing Ricciuto compuonded it.

Port on the other hand lost to sides who were lower ranked and that they beat during the year, without any injury excuses. To Port's credit they worked on their deficiencies by adding the personal and adjusting the game plan. Have Adelaide now run out of time for that?

Francou and Primus were two of the best playres going around but we did not have them in 03 and 04 champ.

I think Lade missed 01, and we have had many injuries problems in our finals campaigns. Get a clue mate.

perhaps we should stop trying to label the "failure" to make a GF (as Roo has so eloquently stated) and simply congratulate both Adelaide and Freo on at least making the prelim for a chance to actually get to the GF.

Well, as the Eagles are favourites with the betters and the experts, you'd suggest we couldn't choke. But what we think is irrelevant so who is favourite is not relevant either. The Swans have won and are defending Premiers so they can't be chokers. Just like the Lions didn't choke when they lost to Port in 2004. Choking suggests serial failure from a team that looked set for success - and that's why it's been (and being) suggested for Port, Pies and now the Crows.

Well considering you guys have selective choosing and like to choose stats from Rd 7 onwards or any time frame that hides the embarassment.
Every final Port plays in we are clear favourites, it's what you get when you have a history of winning a flag every 3 and a bit years.
In this whole so called choke period to date (post 2000) we have played in 13 finals and won 6. We made the finals 5 years straight which is a fair effort.
The Crows have played in (post 2000) 12 finals and won 4, yes only 4! Clear favourites on quite a few occassions except those 70 point floggings.
End of the day these are irrelevant stats as everyone knows that the Crows have choked bigger than Port in recent years. Finished top 2 twice, lost a Home Prelim, a first up home final. Clear favourites all year yet CHOKED>

I never said half of those things. We were favourites in some games yes. And lost. Whether or not you are favourites does not determine whether or not a loss is considered a choke. The performance prior to that (H&A season) have a huge bearing on it.

no excuses.if you keep up all this crap about being underdogs in matches, and taking that as a go-pass, then you should seriously start rebuilding. a premiership winning team should be able to beat anyone at anytime, not matter the lead up. ricciuto, edwards, clarke, goodwin, mcleod are the whole reason you are successful at the moment. and they are basically gone at end of next season.

Why only count half the stats, your mob is digging so deep it's hilarious, look at eggboy's stats, he tries to show our dominance in 03 but discards the first 7 rounds as we lost 3 games in that period and it doesn't back up his facts. Poor try-hard attempts yet again.

I took from round 7 because I wanted to get the games where every team plays each other once. I also buggered that up and meant to go from round 6 but couldn't be bothered opening the window again.
