Reid was walking around unimpeded after the game, shaking hands and what not. I'd say it's BS, but who knows with him, he may have nicked his quad getting into his car on the way home.

No need to really fast track it with the number of key backs on our list. More likely that he is young and has time on his side for it to fully repair. Apparantly it has felt a bit loose for some time. It will also allow him to have a couple of solid preseasons to really build his tank and muscular strength before pressing for senior selection. No need for the club to keep playing him in the twos and risk more significant injury to his shoulder.
 
How do you reach your conclusion that shoulder reco = fast-tracking?

Well, he didn't HAVE to have the surgery. But having the surgery now as opposed to the end of the season means he's ready for pre-season, so to me it almost sounds like they really want him ready for pre-season, so they might be trying to really develop him quicker then we thought.
