The fabricators on derelict freighters can now make corvette parts. Also the salvagable scrap you can find on some planets now contain corvette parts as well. You can buy them on the space station too

Yeah it's fun. I had a go at corvette building in creative mode first so I could squander ship parts at will (it's a grindfest for parts otherwise). I'll wait for another patch or two before I go building on my main permadeath save.
