we win next saturday and we're the first non vic team to beat a vic team in the grand final without list or salary cap concessions.

collingwood are $1.60 favourites while we're $2.35 underdogs no surprise really
good to see this thread reared its ugly head again.

have a crazy eagles supporting mate that put $100 in the start of the season at $40 to win the GF. They were $23 just to make it

no you don't. Since the split of Melbourne teams into the G or Etihad you see one team - Brisbane, beat two victorian teams, one of which calls etihad it's home, and years later, one win for Sydney over Hawthorn. Every other interstate premier beat another interstater.
Sure, but you're reaching this conclusion by coming up with different reasons why particular years shouldn't count. Since there are so few Grand Finals, if you do this, you can very quickly wind up with only two or three valid data points, and say, "Look how few there are!"

The five best H&A records since 1990 are all Victorian. 9 of the top 12.

In the past 10 years, 9/10 Victorian teams have a better winning % at the MCG than EVERY non-Victorian team.

No non-Victorian side has ever defeated a Victorian side in the Grand Final without list or salary cap concessions.

The evidence is clear.

This is the VFL in drag.

Of course it is . Every club SA and WA knew this when they joined.
Unless you can change history and the demographic of Australia then it will always be a glorified VFL.
Is there a problem ?

It’s 8-8, and that even includes the last 5 years where mentally weak interstate teams have choked

Just to clear this up now for the record in case the Eagles win, do they have list or salary cap concessions?

Salary cap in 2012 was 8.8million.Swans only paid after Cola 8million..7 other teams paid closer to full capacity in 2012.
I saw another graph from salarys of sporting clubs around the world.Showed swans had a cap of 8 Mill and ranked 8th.U look at Swans list in 2012 it was hardly star studded especially when u consider Goode's was on the veterans allowance.Mitch Morton who played for Eagles ,Tigers and Swans was asked about Cola and stated it should be 20% when comparing Sydney to Melbourne and Perth

No vic club has beaten an interstate club in a grand final without the home ground advantage, or the extra opportunities for players to earn outside the cap eg work at fox footy, footy show etc

Not sure, it wasn't fully labeled, only the first 2 were confirmed, Freo was an educated guess by the author hence the *.

Suspect Freo like Sydney and whoever is in 5th spot (maybe Hawks or North?) there had a fair whack of veterans payments that inflated their numbers. Sydney would have had Goodes and someone else that would have to be counted at 50% for the real cap, but would all show on the graph - Freo probably Pav and maybe Sandi.

On March 13, 2008 the idea for the AFL’s newest club was born after the league won the support of the 16 club Presidents to establish an 18th side to be based at Blacktown International Sportspark in Western Sydney.
