MCC membership is already really good value for what it gives even without the grand final. The problem is that MCC and AFL memberships cater to primarily to Victorians and they take up a huge chunk of ticket allocations. Im all for tradition, I like the MCG and the GF pilgrimage is cool, but ticket allocation really should be something more like 15% corporate, 60% competing team membership with a 50/50 split, 20% general public, 5% other. You could include the AFL members who have the competing clubs nominated in there somewhere. I pulled the numbers out of my ass but you get the picture.

But that'll never happen, MCC has the AFL by the balls. One day there will be a interstate derby GF and the majority of the crowd will be neutral.

For many it is something they keep just in case there team does make a GF.
