No TV coverage of Geelong v Freo

I don't know if this is a good thing or not, probably is a good thing if you don't barrack for Geelong (come to think of it, it is probably a good thing even if you do) But I can't understand the reasoning of channel 7 not to televise Fremantle v Geelong into Melbourne.

What ever happened to games staring at the SCG and Brisbane at 12.40pm followed by a later afternoon game in either Adelaide or in this case Perth.

It just makes no sence the Bulldogs v Sydney game is on at 2.10pm Melbourne time and the Fremantle v Geelong game starts at 2.10 Perth time, 4.10 Melbourne time.

Now we know that both sides are currently useless, but one will have to win a game, wouldn't it be fair that their supporters outside of Perth (OK only about 12 Fremantle supporters live out of Perth) get to see their team actually have a chance of winning?

It seems a strange decision - thoughts?!?!?!

Sydney (the club and fans) complained long and hard about 12:40 games. Crowds were usually down as people hated going at this time. Sydney requested that there be no 12:40 games scheduled in the future and for once the AFL listened.

I assume Brisbane had similar problems and had a similar request.

Personally, I think convenience of fans going to the game should take precedence over the convenience of TV viewers.

I sympathise though, as much as 7's coverage of AFL in Sydney sucks, at least we see the Swans every week.

If the standard of the Geelong v Freo game is the same as Geelong v Carlton,then it should be illegal to televise that rubbish.

I'm not complaing about not seeing it.I'll listen to K-ROCK.

What? This game isn't being shown? Bloody hell! I postponed my wedding because I wanted to be home to watch this game. I even hired a big-screen television for the occasion.

Damn, I'll guess I'll have to put up with watching 2 ACTUAL Final 8 contenders do battle.

I share everyone's sorrow.

If we weren't already aware - Channel 7 SUCKS.

This weekend the GRAND FINAL replay (yes, I'll say it again, the GRAND FINAL rematch fer chrissakes) is NOT being televised AT ALL in Sydney!!!!
Not on Channel7, or optus (live) - instead we have to wait until 8:30pm to see it on Optus (for those who have it...NOT ME!)

This really sucks!
Instead we get to see the 'lame duck *******s' (Swans) play.... gee the skills, the great 'promotion of the game'. No wonder some NSW people think the game is a joke....

Essendon are the second most popular team in NSW, and the Dees have a pretty reasonable following up here too.

Odd how Geelong have had three home games telecast live against the gate and as soon as they play a game their supporters can't get to, there's no sign of it on the telly.
