Don't forget Ned.Steene, Steele and Howes all possibly shaping as really good mid season draft picks.

We were lucky to get Oscar too as St Kilda were sniffing around him also, that worked out well for the club as we were able to get him pre season and then we had another injury and were able to get Oleg also and he played in the 2023 GF win.Steene was SSP
I think it was Charlie Dean's pesky foot? If so, we and Oleg owe it a beer or actually a shit load of them.We were lucky to get Oscar too as St Kilda were sniffing around him also, that worked out well for the club as we were able to get him pre season and then we had another injury and were able to get Oleg also and he played in the 2023 GF win.
Yes, it was. We announced the signing of Oscar Steene on February 6 2023, then four days later announced that Dean would be placed on the Inactive List, and that Markov had been signed: https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/1269219/dean-placed-on-inactive-listI think it was Charlie Dean's pesky foot? Listed in the best from last week's game. I'll be shocked if they move him from the backline now.I've been calling for it for a while (since June 1 last year, apparently, according to this thread), but at this point I'd be pretty disappointed if the club couldn't see the clear opportunity here and persist with Howes in defense for the rest of the year.
We've already got West and Buller playing well in attack next to a developing Zac McCarthy, so there's not exactly a lot of need for another key forward in the VFL team anyway.
Gee must only be some of the highlights on this, big call, I'm a fan as stated, has a lot of the tools just like Cochran, those two could make good tall flankers, what I want to still see more of is body on body strength in one on ones, better positioning and some smarts rather than just getting rid of the ball.Watched the game live, but didnt realise how good a game he had until watching those highlights.
Most impressive defensive game i can remember from a collingwood defender in the vfl in a while.
Knew he had footy smarts from some of his work as a forward last year, but it looks like being a defender lets him display his strengths (anticipation, contested marking, footy smarts) more then he does as a forward.
Could be a masterstroke if it works.
