News Noble confirmed as North HC

Noble hasn't come out and shut the North stuff down.
About 3 weeks ago on the Roar Deal he did shut it down in response to a specific question from Dom RE Norf Head Coach role. Said he didn't see that as his career path.

Of course, he could deny it again. But then it's still up to interpretation. Repeatedly denying it keeps the rumour in the headlines and could be seen as protesting too much. He's denied it a few weeks back, but hasn't commented since, which could be a change in position, or could just be that nothing actually has changed.

At the end of the day, anything he does could be seen as evidence in either direction. In which case, it really doesn't matter what he says or does anyway :p

Yeah, I get all of that - I heard the Roar Deal interview as well. Interesting that Vossy has been able to shut things down very effectively, likewise with the guy from WCE.

We do tend to usually hear from Nobes after the trade period with his thoughts as to how things went down.
At this stage he has been put on ice, which to me means that he is persuing the role.

Not much competition for the gig by the looks.

You'd be picking him if he wanted it.

Looks to me the North coaching gig will be given to last man standing...down to 2 now.... Lyon, Voss & now Graham have all said no to North...

One of the leading contenders for North Melbourne’s vacant senior coaching position has been ruled out, with Eagles assistant Jaymie Graham committing to his WA-based club.
It comes amid new Kangaroo Jaidyn Stephenson’s endorsement for Collingwood assistant Robert Harvey, whose odds of landing the Roos role just improved.

Foxfooty.com.au reported last week that Graham, Harvey and Brisbane football boss David Noble were among the top candidates to be North’s new coach following the departure of Rhyce Shaw last month

Article in HUN on "...why Noble is the man to lead the Roos" grr!

...it was there yesterday too and had a poll for the 3 candidates (Noble, Harvey, Giansiracusa) I voted a couple of times....1 for Harvey and 1 for Giansiracusa!

Robert Harvey was getting the most votes then Noble......just can't see Harvey as a senior coach. Perhaps a lot of people voted away from Noble like I did.

...afterall, he is Lion!

It seems like Noble is going to North. On the plus side, he will stabilise them and hopefully have good success as an AFL coach which appears to me to be more suited for than a CEO. On the negative side, it will be a huge loss for the Lions. I don't like it one bit

If Noble does leave at least we have seen how he operates so we will know what we are looking for in a new candidate. Just whether one is gettable.

Kingy with his take on the North Coaching Job.
Noble is his favourite and thinks it will be announced over the weekend or by Monday.

I can't be too annoyed about Noble potentially going to North, after all we also got an older coach who was previously a football manager. If he goes, hopefully whoever replaces him can take us to the next level.
Yeah, I agree even though it hurts to say.😢

I guess we can take comfort in the fact that it has been a long, long time since someone from our coaching and or off field staff that have been poached.
Which in essence shows the organisation we have become. 👍

:(

The Brisbane Lions expect their football manager David Noble to land the North Melbourne job as the Kangaroos' board met on Friday morning to discuss the senior coaching appointment.

That's a real shame. He's been key to getting us out of the dumps, it would've been great to reward his efforts with a flag before he left. And I could've sworn he was quoted recently saying he was gearing his career towards being CEO.

Guess North made him a godfather offer.

What a pleasure it has been having him as major contributor to our rebuild. His loss will be felt, his contribution not forgotten but we will move forward a better club for his presence. It's the perfect time to look at how the support soft cap is dealt with. I am sure Swanny and Fages will maintain the stability and future growth they have so completely invested in. I think the roos made a great decision, as they don't just need a coach but someone who can drag the club into the 21st century in terms of what it takes structurally to make a great club (like ours). Can't wait to hear the media banter between Fages and Noble next year as opposing coaches!
