In all seriousness, people move organisations for a promotion all the time. Much like Hawthorn extended the courtesy to Fagan when he came to Brisbane, we have extended the courtesy to Noble here. It’s sad to lose Noble but you’re deranged if you’re actually mad at him for “bailing the club”.

I'm surprised to hear this attitude towards Noble given how voluminous you are in your praise of ex-Lions players with other clubs. You'd rather fringe players do well at other clubs but not someone who, as you point out, was one of the biggest contributors in turning our club around from a basket case and did more for the club than any of the players.

The single most important person at the Lions is Greg Swann. Parachuted in by the AFL in the depths of our darkest hour.

This all started with his appointment. Our success on the field, our improved culture, our ability to recruit quality personnel on field & more importantly behind the scenes in the back end of the club.

It was Swann who brought us Noble & Fagan & he will keep bringing in quality people.

Greg Swann is God.

Congrats to Nobes ,he's worked very hard and has had a lot of success and fully deserves this appointment.

Now he faces his biggest test. The expectations that North can improve in the same way Brisbane has is a high bar.

The challenge for us is to appoint someone to keep the show rolling the same way it has for the last 3 years.
