Our match day coaching was deplorable last year, and, based on Thursday, it's going to be just as shithouse this year.

We can't afford to tread water for the rest of the season - Nobes needs to do his list management job, WE NEED TO FIND A SENIOR ASSISTANT FOR SANDO IN THE BOX, WITH GAME DAY NOUS, RIGHT NOW.

Who?

Who is available with the skills needed.

Would it be easier to fill the list management role and leave noble where he is.

If Noble was the man to do the role, he would've been in it already.

I don't know who the best man is available, I don't work in the AFL; but I've just head hunted two people to fill roles in my organization. I knew what I needed, found out who fit the brief, and I went and got them.

There is no reason the Crows can't sack up and do the same (granted! they should've done it in the off season as they obviously knew Bailey's condition was terminal); identify the best person available, and throw the kitchen sink at getting them.

Otherwise, look forward to yet another wasted year.

Do we have the appeal to attract a quality coach?

Can we entice an A grade assistant to leave Melbourne for Adelaide?

Especially when we have a reputation of not over paying coaches.

Maybe we could get Paul Hamilton back, however his reputation might be shit after the Essendon drama.

Mark Neeld as an assistant was very good at Collingwood
Scott Waters (unless he was sacked as he was too hard to work with)

We won't get anyone to break a contract at this time if the year. That will not happen.

I'm just wondering how many of our recent decisions are made with who can we afford in mind.

Chapman filling in for our CEO
Noble filling in for Bailey
Missing out on Burgess
Paying a couple of QC lawyers would have put a dent into the coffers.

Just another example of the administrators not releasing the information to the supporters.

Who are the senior coaches out of the game in the past couple of years....
Worsfold ?? Don't know what he's doing this year
Neeld As you pointed out Alex very good at Collingwood, just not senior coach material.
Watters Media work this year
Voss apparently knocked back assistant jobs to do a Foxtel show called the recriut
Harvey Back in Perth apparently not doing anything with football

Now the list is a slim one with really maybe Neeld, Watters, Voss maybe and Harvey who have all had senior coach experience and as far as I can tell are not employed by any other club.

Voss would be excellent IMO. He just got a senior job far too quickly

Watters a good choice too.Was excellent in the WAFL over here

Malthouse always rated Neeld very highly as an assistant.
His big downfall at Melbourne was he tried to play like Collingwood without having Swan Pendlebury Cloke etc.
I think he'd be a great fit.

Does Sando "need" a baby sitter any more? Surely his training wheels are off this year?
I'd say he does, but then I'd also point out that Buckley has Rodney Eade; and I don't think he's 'babysitting' him.

You are quite possibly the harshest critic of the club on nearly every issue imaginable and you come up with this.
How do you figure?

Neeld was very highly rated by everybody as an assistant; has now the experience of being a senior coach, and we've lost our senior assistant (who was also a failed senior coach; like Ratten, Voss, Craig etc); how is it not worth pursuing?

Did you see what he did to Melbournes list? Not to mention all the murmurings about losing players etc. I thought you wanted an assistant that could actually offer some experience and opinion rather than one you had to supervise all day for fear of him making a mess. No thanks, if it came down to Neeld or Noble, Id take Noble.
