Misiti throws half the time, fact. Take a look at games from last year and some of the ones he got away with would be laughable if they werent so blatant.
Saying that though, nearly every player in the league does these little nothing handballs were it just flounces of two moving hands (i always thought the rule was one hand is kept still while the other clenched hand punches the ball) in whats become the accepted form of handballing in todays game.

Handball: the act of holding the football in one hand and disposing of the football by hitting it with the clenched fist of the other hand.
You're half right. The hand with the ball doesn't have to be kept still.

What is troll-like about claiming that Misiti throws the ball? He does! Gets away with it too which shows he has an awareness of the umpire's positioning.
It's just frustrating to watch replays with him chucking the ball for a centre break.

Again its not meant to single out the Dons, just that i did see them in half a dozen games last year, and Joe, (bloody good player) for all the pluses, throws the bloody ball more than anyone else going around. My Dons mate was actually the one that pointed out to me (wont even mention what he says about Mick)
I just reckon its a blot on the game and should be stamped out.

If players take advantage of the "inconsistent" interpretation of this rule then good luck to them (even if it gives me the @#*! every time Misiti throws the pill) - it's something the umpires have to get right though because it takes a special skill out of the game and their ruliongs appear to be inconsistent.

Sorry Sandie but I'm actually a Don's fan but the handball tactics of our side irks me - mainly because the team doesn't have to do it. It's a ploy that has exploited a weakness in rules interpretation that makes the game uglier.

Ever noticed how often those "jibby little chickenshit" tap ons actually result in goals or a run on possesion for essendon ???? No one ever said Micheal Long was physically the toughest bloke going around, he's had alot of injury problems and he's not as young as he once was, so whats the point of unnessarily endangering himself, so that everyone will think hes a hard nut, when he can do just as effective a job for the team by tapping it ????

Reading this thread has reminded me of the time I visited the official Eagles forum. It was just after the game over in Perth where we beat them by about 10 goals and one of their regular posters reckoned that the main reason why the Eagles lost was because Brent Harvey kept on throwing the ball and the umpires refused to penalise him for it!

Mercuri reminds me of McKernan in that he is tagged by many people as a champion when he is merely a very good player who often goes missing.
As for Longy - he is a great player but he cuts too many corners in his gameplay (and has done so for the last couple of years). Throwing the ball is one aspect of that...
Most underrated dons? Hardwick and Blumfield.
