Noms de Plume - Player Nicknames

The Lynch Mob offered our own nicknames for pretty well all the players. Did anybody else have or hear some odd, grouse or memorable aliases for our champions?

Here's a couple :

Matthew Dundas - 'Krokah' : per 'Crocodile Dundas'.
Joe Cormack - 'Reapah' : (reaper, because lookalike Terry Wallace was called the 'plough').
John McCarthy - 'Sapple' (short for Super Apple) or 'Jenny' McCarthy.
Paul Broderick - 'Ferris' (per Matthew Broderick's Ferris Bueller).

I think the MOB put a lot of thought inot their nom de plumes so why try and better it we all had different ones I suppose like Nick "Chuck" Carter he threw up at training on his first night so me and Tommy Couch just said "good Chuck Carter".

We also called Danny morton 'Swanston Street', as he was once caught driving down the mall, bagging melbourne for being empty.

Doc was called Wheildon the wrecker (after Whelan the wrecker).

I called David Bain Cu Saeng (I was reading a book at the time called 'Bane', a fantasy horror with a ghostly force called the aforegoing).

Before learning Jeff Bruce's nickname was Pizzle, I'd been calling him Chubbah (from the Kevvish 'Tchb' - They Call Him Bruce).

Kevin Caton was known as Cannibal Caton, I think we all know why.

Must have been circa '86. Peter Bourke was just starting off in our seconds. Bloke near me was calling him 'Bourkovich'...so from that day on, to me, he was always Peter Bourkovich!

Looking rather immature in hindsight ... sheeze and I was 18 at the time. Surely I must be nearly grown up!

Matthew Dundas was called "Nara", because he had a bit of trouble pronouncing Buckenara.

Peter Bird was "BIRRRDMAAAAN!", after the guys, who jumped off the bridge into th Yarra
Mick Dwyer was the Baldy Man, after the Mr Bean take-off
Gerry McCarthy was always "Uncle Gerry", because I heard a kid ask if Fitzroy was Uncle Gerry's new team on the day of his first game.

For some reason, Justin McGrath was referred to as 'Strzelecki'.

Hawking was known as Shaggy, or Scooby Doo, or even Mr Boombastic.

Frank Bizzotto was known as the Pleasuredome, although some called him 'No Comment'.

Nick Mitchell was Snuffle Junior.

Darren Holmes - Homer, Johnny or H.G.

Adam McCarthy - Lish (original nickname was Chewy, which we bastardised through Chewy ... Extra ... Lish Mylie (for the great tashe that larsh'n'larsh).
