I think it does get lost though that the warriors had to give up Harrison Barnes and Andrew bogut. Of course KD is an insane upgrade, but those 2 were a huge part of what the team did previously.

Either way, unless a team like
Minnesota or Philly drafts another superstar, its hard to see the Warriors not being title favourites for the foreseeable future.

In their defence they did try hard to do that to prevent something like this happening but the players union rejected it. Going to be a long 5 years watching Golden State win ring after ring.

Which is why I want the Lakers to build through the draft and through free agency, rather than trading away young talent and good picks to pry away a good player or two via the trade route. Golden State will likely own the West for the next few years, so a slow build will yield the best end result for most Western Conference teams.

What an anti-climatic finish to game 3! LeBron and Kyrie had two of the best individual performances to keep them up, went cold in the last two minutes and KD finishes them off. 3-0 looking at a sweep now.

Where was this KD last season as well? Westbrook must be spewing.

Anyone want to predict the next time the Warriors don't win the championship? I'm going 2022. They are so far ahead of everyone else.

Yep. Swap Jordan with LeBron and Warriors still take it. I don't hate them per se, it's just a bit boring that they're basically unbeatable. Similar to how Sky dominate cycling.

Warriors were already a beast team and then they added Durant - he's arguably their best player. I know they lost some quality at the mid level but you'd lost that to take a star every day of the week in bball.

Draymond's a bit of a dick but he's phenomenal in that team. Durant aside (lost a few to accommodate him, too) they've built it from the ground up playing some of the most entertaining ball you could imagine, Curry seems like a genuinely good dude and Kerr is a fascinating guy.

Get where people are coming from when they say it's boring but it won't last forever. The league moves quickly.

Agree - Irving had a great game but an almost bizarre last two minutes where they just seemed to meekly fade away. Too many missed 3s and not enough taking the 2 when they had the chance (esp James).

Curry seems like a genuinely good dude.

Come on, he's a great passer, finisher and defender (although he hides off the ball a lot) when he's not burned by teammates and forced to guard LeBron. Was even pulling down boards today!

The mouth guard thing I'll give you, that shits me, although throwing it into the crowd and hitting a Cavs minority owner's son in the finals last year had me howling.

I did say it was irrational. He's a star there's no two ways about it - but that is often a cause of irrational polarizing views on sports stars.

No way is he a great defender, he's mediocre. Great shooter, great handles, great finisher and a good passer (not great).

Wise beyond your years as always Ozil. The league does move fast. No one saw the Warriors coming back in the summer of 2014. There will be another team out there that's just a move or 2 away.

For example, if someone was to say they are going for tennis player A to win the French open, because she's hotter than tennis player B.

Fwiw I don't consider it untoward as you can support someone for any range of reasons. A gay man might be more inclined to throw his support behind a homosexual athlete and that's considered fine.

Yeah as long as no one is degraded or exploited for their appearance by fans I think it's fine. It is human instinct and nature after all, for both genders.
