I watched all of Lost, wasn't a huge fan of the finale, but overall I liked how it got there.

Just to be safe I'll spoiler (but I doubt anyone cares).

I think they misinterpreted the fans to be honest. The fans spent so long demanding "a sense of finality" that Abrams and co. thought they meant they wanted it to flash forward to when they were all dead, rather than actually answering some of the questions that remained.

That said, I didn't mind the finale. I thought Jack's (as much as I hated him) conversation with his dad was pretty powerful and it did make a lasting impression on me. Think the whole thing could've been done a bit better though.

At least the show didn't tank as badly as Heroes did as it went on. I'm still bitter about how good that show used to be.

They weren't dead in the flash forwards though. I always thought that they were stuck in a place, kind of like an alternate reality (not purgatory), and as they said, until they were all reunited they could not truly "die". The details are a bit sketchy, but I don't think they truly died as such until they walked out of the church at the very end.

And we both know that halfway through season 4, they pretty much just got the writing cast to come up with 50 ridiculous plot points and then they drew random ones out of a hat. I actually didn't mind it though, I was a fan of the whole Jacob and his replacement storyline, and the Man In Black, and I know a few of my mates that didn't like it at all.

Lost always left a lot of questions open, but I think they answered a lot of the questions. They answered why the Island is "magic" and important, what about the statue, why the Losties were there etc. It's just a few fans didn't like the answers, and some of them were open ended or not answered.


I did actually love Farraday's storyline, I totally forgot about that. The show is so dense that i've probably forgotten half of the things that happened in it!
