Fair enough. But 50+ years of passion doesn’t make me any less of a Souths supporter (until now) as I’m feeling is the subtext here in your post. I’m a bloody Croatian market gardener’s grand daughter from Spearwood FFS!! I’m just really struggling about how I can justify to myself not kicking them to the kerb after this. But it’s so ingrained in my footy supporting DNA that I can’t imagine NOT supporting them.
And I definitely hear what you’re saying about all clubs having dirt and skeletons. It’s just very challenging right now.

If you feel so passionate about what has occurred regardless of your market garden make the decision to do what you feel is right.

Swans fan here and we were a bee’s dick away from signing Taryn Thomas. I’m not a member and have no inside info, but it’s obvious it was only community backlash that saw us decide against.

I guess we can take the positives in knowing that we the people still can make a difference.

Jumping on this IP that I assume when you say "support them" you mean general support of them being your team and not monetary support? I think you can separate still going for / barracking for a footy club while not providing value to said club while a few select individuals are in charge.

Also, the benefit of being so passionate about such a small organisation is a firm letter is 20 times more effective then it normally would be. Personally, watching / getting enjoyment from watching your team play can be separated from the moral values of some gross old dinosaurs still in charge and you shouldn't hurt yourself to hurt them IMO.

Agreed - this is a stance many have had to take with the Dockers over certain political stances as well.

Personally having grown up a Souths supporter and near the market gardens IP mentions, I still support them, but it is disappointing. I am also a more passionate Freo supporter than I am a Souths supporter so that may influence the decision.

Nodgey Snuffaluphagus poshman thanks for your measured responses. I have in the past been a financial supporter (member) but not for a while now. But yes - there’s no reason to abandon the whole organisation because of the actions of some of the ‘stale pale males’ that run the club. Clarity gained! Carn Sowfs

Would be a great story! I hope he does as well. It is strange wanting them all to make it knowing that is impossible. Would be great for him and the family. Hopefully he can keep evaluating his friendship circle and stay consistent. Looks like he has a heap of talent.
