le Tour de France has started, some of the best sport, excitement, drama, heroism and travel highlights you will ever see.
There is a 50 minute mini package on SBS of each day's race. It's a great start to the day to tune into that each morning while having a cuppa.
I've always found it super boring, apologies.

If they had to dodge manic orcs on unicycles firing bubblegum bazookas at them....I might give it a whirl :tearsofjoy:

Most of those things can be found amongst the crowd on the edge of the road, plus people dressed up as dinosaurs, bears and whatever else comes to mind. Plenty of crazy spectators half charged on vino running up the steep sections shouting encouragement too.

Any other really happy Qld supporters here?

The blues can't get it done in the rugby league either!

The Dan Gorringe curse has moved to Rugby it seems.

My cousins are all mad QLDers and Cowboys fans from Townsville so extremely happy for them with this result.
Queenslanders are even more parochial than West Aussies, and Origin is as big over here as the AFL grand final is there.

We managed to get to a Cowboys game when we were in Townsville, nice venue, nice atmosphere.

Good to see the cockroaches burn another series they should have won easily on paper 🤣

NSW win them all on paper! But it's hard to beat a team led by a champion playing on raw emotion. When he turned up to camp 2 days out from the game and got the reception he did, you kind of knew NSW were done.

I heard that when an Irishman won the Tour de France, he did a lap of honour :)

I feel a bit sad actually for Test Cricket.

An Aussie journo covering the game over there atm said on Sunday this could be our last ever test match in the west indies which would be a damn shame.

If we bowled the Poms or India out for 27 then it would be awesome and great to see be talking about it for years.

Like we bowled India out for 36 in a pink ball test in Adelaide a few years back and how good was it with Kohli in the line up.

But i get no satisfaction seeing the West Indies struggle and become an embarrassment like this.

World cricket needs a strong/competitive West Indies especially in Test Cricket.

The way things are going its going to be 4 or 5 nations playing test cricket and the rest will be T20 franchise cricketers which will in my eyes is going to ruin the sport even more once we start phasing test nations out of test cricket.

Cricket only has themselves to blame really.

The problem is the game would gradually die anyways if they hadn't gone the T20 route, the modern world doesn't suit test cricket.
It might have not even been gradual to be fair, and as much as I don't love T20 we can't pretend it isn't important to the game having a future.

Green is on the improve and may well develop into a long tern number three. Konstas is a looking more and more crab like every time he goes out to bat.
Think he'll drop down to no.4 the moment Smith retires.

Actually think the selectors had the right idea with Labuschagne opening. Queensland should be told to give him that role to start the shield season.

McSweeney is really doing well at no. 3 for Australia A so hopefully that continues.

Not convinced by the opening 'options' at all tbh. Only really moving middle order players to opening and/or waiting 3-4+ years for guys in their early 20s to develop in the shield seem like real options to me.

We've been putting out grassy pitches that seam all match to combat bazball (which we've been doing for 3 full seasons now to be ready) that are usually a bit easier to bat on when the ball is old.
With this in mind I think the horses for courses approach is a really stodgy opener that never cuts, never drives on the up and knows where their off peg is. Who cares how slow they are..
