Carlton are going to be genuinely cooked this year.

Harry McKay is already looking to miss the start of the year with his groin. Charlie Curnow's knee is, according to Cornes, so bad that he may not play this year (and it's already pretty well established that he won't be playing for the first half of the year at least).

Now, there's a rumour on the Carlton board that Mitch McGovern is injured. That's all 3 of their KPFs out with injuries

Stiff. Guess Casboult goes forward again then.

But they have Cripps who is apparently the best player to ever play AFL?

Interesting stats. Rationale for us getting less was basically success. Where someone like Melbourne it was because their more favorable draw/blockbuster games.

I dont get posts like this. Cripps is a generational talent. Up with the very best like Fyfe and Bont.

Fully agree, but the love in can get over the top. He gets spoken about like a player to build a team around which is correct, but they overlook how average Carlton is overall. He literally can't do it all by himself, so he can't be happy until his teammates pick up some of the workload to & get more wins on the board for the team. Pundits seem to think as they have Cripps, they will instantly keep becoming better. If true & they don't have McKay, Curnow & McGovern for an extended period, that will be an interesting time for them to see how they handle it.

I already tipped Geelong to miss the 8 this year. I’ll stand by that. Good Coast will be a tough game for at least the first half of the season until the kids tire out a bit.
