Watched first two minutes of Gawks game and heard the callers beat off about Poppy non stop. Poppy poppy poppy. Unwatchable.

The hankies will be out drying tears as Poppy and Stratton are carried off.

Playing and beating the Cats in the first EF is my dream scenario. Carn the bloods....
It'd be nice but you just know the Swans won't hang on.

It's certainly been an unusual first quarter with 9 goals being scored. The AFL will have to clamp down on those sorts of excesses.

Meanwhile the Hawks have just dropped down the draft order (from #3 to #4) by thrashing Gold Coast. They needed to score 25 points less, assuming the Swans stay at 82.04%.

Not that I'm suggesting any sort of match fixing or tanking ever happens in the AFL.

Swans are gonna be so good in a few years. Florent, Hayward, Stephens, Heeney, Mills, Rowbottom, Blakley is a great core for the next decade.

The AFL can't afford to have them miss finals as they'll loose income from the Sydney market so they'll find a way to prop them up again like they do with the plastics

Zac Williams' reason for wanting to come to a Victorian club is hilarious.

He wants to move south to be closer to his sister who is based in...Albury.

It is easier to get to Albury from Melbourne than Sydney. However it does seem fairly flimsy.

To be fair its probably better than saying he wants to get out before the coming implosion.

With Jack Martin last year and Williams this year, Carlton are becoming the new Essendon.

Big club who hasn't won a final in several years, fail to make/win a final in the current year, recruit the big-name in the offseason, win trade week, don't win a final the following year, rinse and repeat.

It is very, very funny to see some 30 years on with drafts and equalisations and the like, the big clubs who found success before that era still living by the "recruit the best players and we'll win" method of modern footy.
