I wasn't arguing that Geelong aren't a great team. I was pointing out how the fixturing disadvantages smaller clubs and favours the bigger ones.
Geelong's long term winning record at KP is around 67%.
For comparative purposes Melbourne's long term winning record at the MCG is around 52%.
Our winning record at Docklands is around 51%.
Good on Geelong for being able to win at home a lot, but consider how that affects other teams having to play there more often. Or less often as the case may be.
And throw in a draw that had them playing North and West Coast twice - 2 at Kp - combined margin of 275 points.
The only team that made the 8 they played twice was us - their bunnies.
Dream draw - in a compromised competition. Yes - they were great, but boy did they get one hell of a leg up.
