Is Luke Darcy serious with those comments about bonus points for teams that score over a 100?
I suspect he was. But that was not nearly as dumb as what he said pretty soon after when he said that James Hird likes to play attacking football!

He was always pretty ordinary when given the task of being the 3rd banana 'special comments' man in the box, but now that he is one of two main callers during a game he's taken his craft to a whole other level. I suspect that the game may move a little quickly, forcing him to talk much quicker than his brain is able to process leaving a bit of a disconnect when the words come out of his mouth. Its a trait typical of those that learn their trade working in radio. Just fire out words at machine-gun like pace and count the casualties later. Here's a tip Luke. Take a ******* breath between words from time to time.

Looks nice on TV though.

Shaun McKernan might be going for the record free's against-per-game average this season. Why were some people so desperate for us to get him?

Interested to see if the umpiring trend continues for our game. Seem very happy to blow the whistle at any opportunity, poor guys need to get laid! Least we don't have razor ray this week, was disgraceful last week.

Its delicious to me that norf would elect to play Boomers 400th game 1600Km's away from their fan base and the game is only available to view on Foxtel.

Norf have truly Norfed their fans.
People have been criticising North over their handling of this 400th game milestone, but I think that it's all been totally exaggerated. Brad Scott got asked specifically about whether or not Harvey would play on next year, and it seems to me that he answered it honestly - all teams would do the exact same thing with any player who's getting on in years, no matter how much of a 'champion' he has been. And, Harvey seems to have done a few interviews and things this week, and since it's a personal milestone, not a team milestone, it seems totally reasonable to me that the team would only pay lip service to it - they've still got a chance of making the finals, and that's more important than the personal milestone of one player, in my opinion.

This criticism of playing his 400th game in Queensland I don't understand at all though. He's still clearly one of their best players and clearly deserves his place in the team, so why would they drop him? It was just the luck of the draw that this milestone happened to fall on a day when they would be playing interstate.

I think that if the team made a big song and dance about it then they would have been criticised (and Harvey would have been criticised for this as well, given the popular belief that he's an arrogant turd). I think that if Brad Scott had spoken dishonestly about Harvey's future then he would have been criticised .... etc. I think that there was no way that they would have avoided criticism this week, and in all honesty, I don't understand the opinion that they should have made a single player bigger than the team this week. I think that it's all been handled fine, in fact.

However, if they haven't done enough to celebrate the milestone, maybe it's because they already know that he'll playing on next year and possibly breaking the all time games record, and having two huge celebrations in two years for one player would obviously be way too much. So, I think that they might be saving their big celebration for next year. This is just what I think anyway. I might be mistaken.

Imagine if the ICC changed the lbw rule in cricket every week. It would be cricketing chaos. How do the AFL get away with changing the rules every week? Goes to show they have NFI when it comes to protecting the game. Sort out your priorities off season and reward attacking play but don't change your mind every week.

I can't wait to watch the st kilda v melbourne replay!
I can't wait to see who Roos throws under the bus as way of deflecting from his own deficiencies this week.

He has form on the matter.

The Roos thread on the Melbourne board is so good. So, so good.

I haven't watched his presser, but if it's true that he said 'two years ago this would of been a 100 point loss' then he has well and truly lost it. Saints had the same amount of wins as them! **** the campaigner. I don't like Melbourne, but they deserve better than the shit he sprouts out week after week.

Melbourne fans like to talk about Tom Boyd's output relative to his salary.

I hope the irony isn't lost on them when it comes to Fraud Roos.

Granted, you can afford not to care when the AFL bankrolls your every failure.
Yo, you need to add Wallis to your list in Signature dude.

Some non Bulldogs, non AFL footy talk:
I just made my reservations for a hotel in Ft Lauderdale for next weekend. I will be going to see the 49th parallel cup. The US national footy team versus the Canadian national team. The local USAFL team, the Fighting Squids, will take on the Atlanta Kookaburras at 4, the women's teams will play at 6 and the men's teams at 8. So a triple header of footy and several pints of Smithwicks, Should be great fun. Carn the Squids!
