Difference between teams like the Hawks and us encapsulated right there.
Yeah, they were dumb enough to take him and even give us a draft upgrade (Hrovat).
We, on the other hand, were smart enough to offload him before he became a complete liability.

Also means a fair chance that he'll retire at the end of the year. Even if Hawthorn win a flag this year or next, we'll be happy knowing that Lake had little part in winning it for them.

Though it would be good to see him out on the park.

How good was that first term in the Sydney - Geelong game?

I'll bet Macca has a woodie right now watching the two teams I reckon he hopes we emulate.

Good pressure as well and incredible skills under pressure. The most entertaining H&A first quarter I've watched for years.

* Judgement may or may not be clouded by incredibly pleasurable thoughts of Jake Stringer playing for the Western Bulldogs this weekend!

Watching this game the thing that is most interesting is watching Sam Reid, his and Jones stats were almost identical in 2011, they both had pretty ordinary 2012 with Sam only having a couple of good games to put him ahead and he hasn't fired a shot at all again so far this year, yet he is still considered a star while Jones is thought of as a dud, their careers thus far are almost identical including their strengths and weaknesses, yet the perceptions of them couldn't be more contrast.

Plus he got a 5 year contract, but some people want Jones delisted  (granted, it's only the morons).

Footy is a strange business.
