Brisbane have to be tanking for Boyd or Aish. Surely Voss can't be that incompetent. Their team isn't horrible; their top enders aren't great but their bottom enders aren't as bad as say, Richmond's. They're a solid team without being anything special. They should be playing so much better than this.

If they are tanking, it would 100% be for Boyd. They're squeezing every last drop out of Browny, since they have no other key forwards (except Jordan Lisle....).

Should be playing much better than they have been. Not yet prepared to say they're tanking though :p

Yeah I know, can't guarantee they will get him though unless they tank for last. Aish would be good too. They have no real top-liners and that's their real problem. They're like the anti-Richmond - Richmond has some incredible topliners and some real spuds, Brisbane have everything in between. They just need a star. Should've taken the punt with Menzel instead of Mayes imo; Mayes will be solid but will never be a star.

It's either that, or Voss is completely incompetent.

Big call, was one of 4 I though and still think will be star players along with Stringer, Wines and Toumpas.
He very well might become one and I'll be the first to admit I was wrong, but I just think he's way, way too outside to ever be a star. He's not going to stand up in big matches and he's rarely going to win his own ball - if the midfield is struggling, in most cases he won't get much of it. IIRC JMac said something of the "he's a bit soft for us" variety, and I agree.

The local derby against Norf is shaping up as a pretty big game. At most, there will be one win separating us by the time we meet. Will make for a spirited clash I think.

The thing is, for each individual team it's going to even out over the course of the season, but on each individual game it's been shocking. Us against Richmond, the umpiring toward us was so biased it wasn't even funny.

I honestly can't remember a more poorly umpired weekend of footy.
Naught have had an absolute armchair ride from the umpires tonight. Its little wonder that they very nearly stole it.

My urge to put by foot through the T.V was only compounded by the over the top love of all things Majak and Naught from the fox commentary team. Majak only had to be in the vicinity of the ball and 'Huddo' and his cohort started squealing with the delight of an 8 year old girls with BeiberFever. And to think I stump up my hard earned for this amateur hour(s).

One final whinge if I may. David Kings boundary riding commentary made Cameron Ling's efforts last night sound even handed. Its incredible to me that Naught fans are always crapping on about how much King hates them.

I think Ling is good value, they just shouldn't have him cover Geelong games. When you've won three flags with a club your view on them will always be a little skewed (fair enough).

At least Ling is bearable with it unlike others.. Paul Roos. Always drops a few 'Joey Kennedys' or 'Teddy Richards' even when it isn't a Sydney game! Really dislike his media work.

Cameron Ling is good because he is well respected by the wider footballing community. Some of the flogs who did boundary line commentary (Mark "Howie" Howard for channel 10) were actually ok at their job just seemed hopeless because the blokes they were interviewing didn't respect them.
